Yesterday I finally received all the necessary cables to run the new item. Unfortunately I still only get stereo sound via cinch but no dolby via coaxial-cable?!?

Do I need to "push any button" at the LD player? I have a manual but it is not showing anything about the AC3/RF mod :-( The picture of the player in the manual shows only the backside without the AC3/RF connector. Maybe I have to "switch" manually between stereo via cinch connection and dolby via coaxial connection?

The Kenwood has 2 lights: red and green. The red one is lighted permanently - so power ist ok. The green one ("lock") is blinking only - should it be lighted permanently (when everything is ok)?

Does anybody has a similar setup and knows what to do?

Thanks in advance

Klaus

P.S.: and YES the LDs I tried offered dolby sound ;-)

The green lock light should be lighted permanently!! works only with discs that carry the DOLBY DIGITAL and/ or AC-3 LOGO! not to be confused with "regular' stereo dolby surround !
Are you sure the rf out modification on the player is OK?
Check your coax cable from player to demodulator. could be faulty soldering ....
the denon la 2300 is in fact a rebadged cld-d515. I may have the actual rf output board and flexcable as a spare part around somewhere...
it should be an easy plug in procedure...

how much did you pay for the dem-999d.
I have two dem-999d units new mint in box. Never used. Old new stock!

ac-3 rf output should be constant with ac-3 dolby surround encoded discs . no buttons to push for that !

Thanks for your fast answer! I'll try other LDs, I think the ones I tried had only Stereo Dolby Surround (e.g. Clear and Present Danger)!

How can I check whether the rf out is working properly? Is it difficult in case to change the rf output board and flexcable?

The kenwood including shipping was around € 80,--, quite expensive but there are almost no items on the market (at least within europe)...

Try a disc that carries the AC-3 logo!
80 euro for a demodulator is a fair price. Believe me, I've sold them in the 200USD price range even used ones.
Putting in the original rf output is a piece of cake. Only downside it would mean drilling a hole in the back of your player as it does not have the pre cutting done from the factory.
I might also have the backpanel around for the cld-d515. I'll check this out asap.
I do believe it's just the wrong type of discs you are spinning.....

come to think of it!
Clear and present danger was the first AC-3 laserdisc released. The ntsc pressing anyway...
should work with rf out....
