Hello out there... I am posting in the forums now since my account was deleted (twice) due to inactivity. The Admin (Julien) suggested that I use the forums. So, in hopes that my LDDB.com activity is maintained I'm here asking if anyone else has come across this Onkyo ED901 AC3 demodulator. I don't see much info on it anywhere but the manual is cited and a link is provided over at Wikipedia in their Laserdisc article. I recently fixed my CLD-D406 which was giving me a U1 error and upgraded to an Onkyo TX-SR705 A/V receiver with DTS (previously did not have DTS decoding) so now I'm looking to start playing my 5.1 AC3 discs again and add more DTS titles to my collection. If you have any info on this demodulator or would like any specifics from me feel free to ask. Thanks! |

I've got one (and I'm the person that added the link to the manual in the Wikipedia article), it works very well so far as I can tell, but I should point out that I'm not using hugely powerful speakers so there may be distortion I'm missing. I'm using it with a Sony amp, not Onkyo, using a component audio cable discussed in this thread: Colour coding for Onkyo decoder component surround sound Hope this helps. |
