Hello! I have a Pioneer CLD-D515 with an RF output for AC-3. I note most APD-1 on eBay are 100v models but understand they should work fine with a step-down. (I also saw the thread about soldering a jumper to mod a 110v unit to 230v but I'm definitely not confident enough with electronics to try that!) Is there a model which was generally sold within the UK/European market, or an alternative from another company which one could use? |

I use an APD-2 with a step-down plug thing and it works perfectly fine. There is a 220v APD-1 that may be worth seeking out. A demodulator is a demodulator imho. The APD series are nice and compact so do the job nicely I think. |

Meridian 519 (but mine which was the first one I had) died. Lexicon LDD-1 i think would be multi as in able to work over there without something I could be wrong though. |

If there is one with an external power supply, personally I’d prefer that rather than use a voltage converter. That aside...they are all going to sound identical. |

My Yamaha APD-1 asks for 230V and has a UK plug. Alternatively, AV amps with built-in AC3-RF decoding are fairly plentiful and cheap second-hand. |

Thank you for the replies everyone. I've only seen 110v APD-1s on eBay - is there anywhere else known to carry them so I could try to find a 220v one? |

Sony SDP-E800 should be suitable, if you find the UK model. Haven't seen them on eBay lately, but you might get the Yamaha ADP-1. The one that is both 120v and 220v and isn't really cheap anymore. |
