What about Sony LDAC? https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/wh1000xm ... 03175.htmlQuote: "LDAC is an audio coding technology developed by Sony that enables the transmission of High-Resolution (Hi-Res) Audio content, even over a Bluetooth connection. Unlike other Bluetooth compatible coding technologies such as SBC , it operates without any down-conversion of the Hi-Res Audio content (*), and allows approximately three times more data (**) than those other technologies to be transmitted over a Bluetooth wireless network with unprecedented sound quality, employing efficient coding and optimized packetization.
* excluding DSD format contents
** in comparison with SBC when the bitrate of 990 kbps (96/48 kHz) or 909 kbps (88.2/44.1 kHz) is selected." No complaints here with high resolution audio over Bluetooth. Works great for Tidal Masters, Dolby Atmos, Dolby 360 and also 1:1 disc dumps from my NAS. I'm not against the traditional headphone jack at all, but Bluetooth works very well too, even with High Resolution audio. Love the Sony's, still using the XM3's daily and I'll be back for the XM5's if the upgrade is substantial enough to warrant it.

No go, LDAC is lossy. So it's like saying it's transmitting 32 bit/ 92khz but mp3. So not lossless so something is being lost. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LDAC_(codec)Now it may sound good to you, and not arguing that. But you are not getting bit perfect music here. It's basically being converted into a lossy format, sent over the air, then converted back by a cheap DAC and amp that they squeeze into the housing of your headphones. But information is being lost over the air. No doubt about that.

jakeheke wrote: Zeta wheres that old thread where someone was trying to convice us his headphones would be able to decode AC-3RF? That was a good and im sure we all agree would like a set. signofzeta wrote: It wasn’t a thread, it was every thread the guy made. He ONLY came here to talk about his stupid gaming headphones. Yeah….. that endless regurgitation was really just about using his surround headphones with the S/PDIF output of his Sony SDP-E800. It really made no sense what he was trying to do and having to tell him the same thing 10 times over was getting ridiculous.
