Some people actually prefer speakers without the covers and deliberately leave them off, especially if there is a lot of real wood on display. That is one option but I would guess the material to recover them should be fairly easy to obtain online if you prefer to leave them covered. |

i forgot to mention, i had 2 different sets of pioneers, one was the CS-T6100 and the other was the CS-K531, they were nice. from what i remember when hooked up both had a little more bass and a little less treble but good solid speakers. also i believe the ones you have are from the mid to late 1980s not 90s. |

Just an update....the speakers sound really nice, and as said lots of bass. Well that was a date I seen to them on a review, and I was wondering about that too. Anyways I e-mailed Pioneer Canada and just got a reply this morning. They said my speakers were made in 1995 That is right in the cld-97 and cld-99 time, so should be a good match for LD players. |

wow, i didn't know they made the CS speakers for that long, the ones i had totally looked like they were late 80s. still you should be happy with them. |

The light brown coloured ones of these (pics I've seen) definately give a more 80's look then black colour do. Being black was popular, brown probably had to be specially ordered here. If you wanted it to match your vintage equipment. |

I know I'm bumping an old thread but is it a good deal to buy a pair for $15? I've seen some around here though I already have a pair of SH452FK that are sorta of skinner but I'm not sure if their the same height. I might hook it up to that system with a Pioneer VSX 454 or my Sherwood RX4109. |

if you can get them that cheap and they are fine do it. they are really nice speakers, not top of the line but nice and give a nice range, if you A-B them you will notice that there is more bass but all that means is that you have to adjust your EQ to your tastes. ________________________________ the rein-o official signature: |
