my manual has all that type of info but i can't type all that, it will take too long
and i can watch something in that time :D

but i believe mine is only 900 lumen, which is really nice and i don't have to make it super dark
in the room when i watch stuff.

i'm going to try and take pictures in the next few days, this last week was crazy
and i'll need to zone out and watch some stuff on the projector.

Is it a budget model? The cost of projectors have dropped a lot in recent years. I see projectors going for £170.00 brand new on eBay. Yeah you chill out relax, take it easy. :)

here is a link to specs on what i own. http://www.projectorcentral.com/InFocus-IN72.htm

there was a site that told you about sales and i bought it around 2007-8 for around 450 new.

the only place at the time in NYC that had projectors setup was B&H photo.
but they didn't ever have them running at the time, or only had 3 of the 6 running
out of the 40 or so they sold.

it's a great projector and i'm happy with it since you can rotate the base and adjust it really
easily, almost like a ball joint.

i've only watched about 1000 hrs so far and it still has the original bulb.

And if you save up now you can buy the lamps at reasonable price on eBay so you'll have spare ones. I might get one for mine, going rate is about (£78.00 upwards) for mine.

Post subject:  Re: Home Theater equipment list

yes, but the lamps now on the bay are not official infocus, but i don't really know
if there is anything "official" that comes from china.

but they are about half the price compared to when i bought the projector.
i might be better off when the bulb dies to just buy a new projector.
it's alreay about 5 years old now, if and when the bulb dies i may be able to get a better one?
or just stick it out with this one and a new bulb since i know it's quirks.

Well yes and no I'm looking at new ones less than £200.00 some higher priced ones just under £300.00 but I'd take a chance at under £200.00 and see what it has to offer some come with spare free lamps. I wouldn't turn the nose up a China lamp might be better or closer to the original and I wouldn't spend £200.00 for a lamp as that was the going price for mine a few years ago.

oh no, i wasn't trying to say not to deal with china.
just that there may be a small issue and you have to take your chances.

i'm all for buying a chinese lamp for 150 rather than an official one for 400.
but i just saw a video with my projector http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=syqFCIRy12k

i'm glad i have my fire extingusher about 10 feet away before i even saw this video

It will only explode it won't burn the house down. It would go bang and leave lots of shattered glass inside the projector.

here is a picture of my screen in the corner of the room, the door hides it so you can't see it when not
in use. i like the tripod so you can move it around and put it where you want.

and here is a shot with the screen in 2:35 top, 16:9 middle, and 4:3 bottom.

you can see it's about 5 inches from my ceiling at the 4:3,
so i can't have anything larger in this apartment.

The Sony is finally racked up! After a few months of finding a rack ear that is cheap that ended up being too short on the width and with a few hours of my close friends contribution to locating some (screws at his words that along with spacers) the spacers are often used for mounting PCB down and all in all I'd say its smashing job it not only fits soundly it also looks different with how its mounted.

All I need now is pc with XP and hope it handshakes between the Sony and pc to work the software set-up program.

Leads I'm giving a bit more thought I can make a RCA jack to the 25pin lead/plug but I haven't finally decided on how I want it to run. It would have to be the last part of processing before passing over to any outboard additional EQ crossover and amps.

I'm also thinking there has to be say a patch-bay with RCA jack inputs then all the outputs would be XLR it would make things a lot easier and neater and more manageable to re-plug.

Oh well at least its racked I've been patient enough over the past 3 or so months now?

pretty cool, i like the look of all the gear through the years.
that marantz and then newer stuff, it all goes together as it should.

 The Marantz works better than the new gear of today. I will not sale these amps I've had them since 1990 bought second/hand for £45.00 and £50.00 from two different places over a couple of months. They were idea at the time as I only needed two for Dolby Pro-Logic LCRS. Now they serve as LCR for the HF horns, but soon to be replaced but not for sale.

I think it would be best with 12 or 16 channel XLR patch-bay that way I can solder the RCA phone plugs to the rear of the unit depending what make/model/type I buy and mount it on the back of the racking.

I still have to get a 4U rack tray for the Yamaha to mount it.

I've also bought some cable ties this evening x50 for £1.25p.

Won a Dolby SRA5 processor last week for under £70.00 and have till next week to pay for it.

Here is another ebay picture of another one for sale the front panel unscrews and the two Dolby SR type cards are inside that can be removed.

I'll edit the picture below once I get mine around early next month, but they all look like this.

Edit picture out.

I'm reading up the install for it as the CP65 I bought early in the year used to have a SR adapter with it but the seller sold the two separately which was a bummer.
So it might be an easy wire up only I have to find some rack space for it to fit in.

It would would have to be wired so it works on the format 05 as well as Mag/Aux the cards can't be removed to slot into the CP65 I'm guessing the PCB slot will be wider at the back.

Why did the CP-65 have an SR adapter when it was natively equipped with SR/A type NR cards anyway? Unless you have a projector with SR 35mm prints, there is no use for the SR system in a home setup. The CP-65 was designed to be a native SR and A-type decoder plus handle Dolby SR-D digital soundtracks with the outboard Dolby Digital decoders. It's the first processor to use the Pro-Logic decoding system and utilized the Sanyo Pro Logic chip that most early consumer decoders used too. Before that, Dolby processors used the Tate II DES chips which were designed to decode SQ quadraphonic audio, so Dolby had to add extensive circuits to make the Tate chips decode Dolby MP Matrix stereo films.

Post subject:  Re: Home Theater equipment list

I was thinking the CP65 was sold with the SR cards inside I have Dolby leaflet showing it as full house. I'd have to read though the pm on eBay as the seller did mention why wasn't fitted with SR cards. The 65 has had a few mods with card for Dolby LEQ Loudness adaptor that was sold separately :| and the Dolby 363 I think it was Cat-363 with SR cards.

Reading the pm now, I don't wish to post the quote as its confidential between me and the seller. But it does state unquote (that they used x2 363 with Dolby SR so was that for LCRS as the CP65 uses 222A for left-right and single SR cards for mono surround format 42 and one SR for centre).
Its had other mods such as (low noise gain output) and (mod to optical surround gain).

A library picture of one of the punk low frequency transducer and I was thinking night night before last night as its now 00:05 which means its another day for those who can't count 24hours . Something got me thinking? I know it rattles when I have it like this as the base end of the device is banging against the metal seat bucket.

Image

I have tired many approaches one was wiring it to the seat springs that way it doesn't rattle metal seats its felt but its lacking some energy so a bit of loss maybe.

Then I tried plasterboard it worked but only until the plasterboard broken in half when sitting down.

Image

Now, what got me thinking last night was "expandable foam" all I have to do is get a friend over to spray it inside the seat bucket while I hold the device until the foam surrounds it and fills the entire seat bucket up, up to a certain height then let it dry which doesn't take long give it extra mins or so to fully dry then try out The Puck it should give I hope a tighter vibration with I hope less seat metal rattle as you should only feel not hear rattling that is not part of the soundtrack.

All I have to do now is look for a large can of cheap expandable foam.

If it doesn't work as I will only test one seat out, if it doesn't work the foam will be easy to remove and break away from The Puck without any damage.

I've also tried this and once in while the do drop off. I wonder why?
Image

I'll have to keep the foam clear from the springs in the seat bucket, that's not a problem.

Since typing post I've bought a 750 millilitre can fairly cheap should take a few days to arrive next week the very least.

couldn't you use slilcon glue or even hot glue gun?
that way you don't ruin the piece and can remove the glue later.
but if the hot glue gets too hot it may melt the plastic a little, but nothing too bad.
also what about an old mouse pad as spacers? almost like a spring but hard enough.

I see what you mean but it would be a mess to remove. The can I paid for £4.24 p+p £2.00 not a bad price.

I want The Puck to not move around but rather be firmly positioned in the middle of the expanded foam so that the lows from it should I hope shake the seat, without too much rattling.
