Sol Feace is excellent on it. And Snatcher of course. Also you need Final Fight.

Anyone who is a fan of Riding Bean (so basically the entire planet) also needs to get Road Blaster. That is mandatory.

Don't forget to get Kriss Kross, Marky Mark and MC Hammer too!

while i can full well understand and emphasize with the pre-21st-century western Anime fan's generally-held conviction
that the Moe' genre/motif came right out of nowhere and seemingly f***ed the music up but good for now and all time,
i find myself nevertheless compelled to futilely posit that the overwhelmingly popular sub-genre isn't exactly completely devoid of merit...

a parody OVA, i suppose, that was perhaps a little less scatterbrained.

it was alright for what it was trying to do and all, and, back in the day, i imagine it was quite the treat, even,
but today, in this day and age, as a modern Anime Fan, spoiled for choice and info thanks to the internet and all,
well, perhaps i came away a little less impressed than i ought to have been.

i mean, being reared in Anime Fandom in the 90's, right before the blossom of the Information Age,
i do indeed full well remember and appreciate how hard us earlier generations of OTAKU had to "Bleed for our Art"
but even so...

I meant to watch it decades ago. Watched it in January of this year and I was left disappointed with it.

The scenes that stick in my head are the one where the guy on the phone is talking about a VHS copy of something
and the guy smoking on the phone talking about something.

I didn't really watch the entire film, only parts.
Its more of a serious take on the otaku, I may need to find it online and watch again.

Edit: just found it, watched about 20 minutes, has some funny moments.
I think the scenes when they cut to the interviews with actual people are the funniest.

This may hit too close to home for some or most.

Bad time to be ordering from or having pre-existing pre-orders from Japan. Ended up paying another ~$42 in shipping vs what I budgeted due to having to go with DHL. I had been thinking about some other orders but knowing how bad shipping is in comparison I will wait it out.

I received this earlier this week. The seller sent it to me in a paper envelope so it arrived damaged. The side of the cassette shell had snapped off and was rattling round inside.

I did a full strip down (of the cassette, not myself, that would be odd) and then superglued the piece back on. It's brand new again now.

Why VHS when this is on UHD? Well, aside from the French DVD, which seems to command a few €'s, this is the only version that has the Yello score. Just a shame it's dubbed.

I was hoping to find the Crusader VHS of Catgirl Nuku Nuku for the atrocious UK dub. It's really hard to find now. The best way to get it is the Discotek Blu Ray. Somehow they managed to secure the rights for the UK dub so I'll be splashing out on that Reg A Blu Ray soon I think.

This Cobra VHS even has the little Manga Club application form. I actually joined the club BITD, I have the book they sent out to members somewhere. It's pretty good!

Why would you want a subbed version of the original audio but an altered score? That'd be like wanting the JP version of Dragonball but with the Faulconer score.

Speaking of weird changes to the music with the dub, I just finished watching Cyber City Oedo 808. The dub is awful, but in the best possible way, I might actually re-watch the whole thing dubbed later

The Oedo dub is awful but the music is whopper!

Regarding Cobra it would have been nice to have the JP voice track with the Yello score I think. I'm odd though!

If you like anime its great, top 10 for films IMO

The story is a little jumbled and if you can watch the series as its great also.
The first few episodes go into more detail of the film but the film is a classic and was used in a music video back in the day.

But it took years for it to really make it to this country.

Picked up a 16mm EIKI projector and a movie- Play Dirty (1969) WWII film.

There was plenty of sunlight in the room at the time so that's not the proper representation of the image. It's not washed out like that. Colors are actually pretty decent.

I picked up a super 8mm projector earlier this year. Came with a bunch of old sound and colour Tom and Jerry cartoons. It's very satisfying running film through a projector. Colours are superb. Plus one of the censored cartoons even on the laserdisc boxset is preserved in tact on one of those rolls. I think it was the one where Jerry plays a cannibal.

Received this in the mail today. Read lots of good things about it. Second Sight recently put out a Blu LE of it for a hefty sum. If you just want the film, this literally bare bones disc from Vertigo is approx a quarter of the price.

That is my movie night sorted tonight.

UPDATE: Just finished watching it. Believe the hype. This film is epic.
