Wow, your cert labelling is pretty bad too. I guess that's a special giant sticker to fit over our super large ratings. We used to have low visibility ratings that subtly went over the artwork, now we have giant childish coloured labels that ruin box art. Another reason I never buy Australian releases unless I plan to totally recase them into generic cases.

It is indeed some large sticker. Underneath is a blue M certificate printed on the sleeve.

Nothing to panic over though, the sleeve is reversible with an untouched version available. Viavision did this on purpose, a nice touch I think. I've reversed the cover already. Umbrella, another Australian company do this with their releases too.

I got the Viavision release of The Keep today.

It's an official release and not a bootleg. Only available in Australia on DVD (imports aside of course). The Viavision release is the only DVD (well, it's the only legit DVD full stop) presented with a 2:35:1 print. It also has a 2.0 stereo track.

Also you get a reversible cover to get rid of the certificate labelling. I've reversed my copy already.

Gave the disc a quick skim already. It looks great and sounds great. Happy duck here, though I can't fathom why a Blu Ray wasn't an option when planning this release?

I bagged that one a little while ago, can't think of the last DVD I have bought prior to this.

It was quite cheap even with the postage from the other side of the world.

Don't get why it has not had a wider release & with you on the blu-ray - just pleased to have a good quality copy now.

Enjoy  .

yeah Ted I read you reversed it. I have a lot of older Umbrella releases, pre-dumb rating code. Interesting they provide reversible covers now. Cool.

While I like this film I don't won it on LD and would buy the DVD if it had the cut stuff I've seen on youtube.

Film is SOOOO much better than the book.
The book is just a regular monster/vampire story, the film is just pure great 80s oddball.

I'd like to think I'm not imagining it (pretty sure I am not as I only watched The Keep last night for the first time), but the so-called 'deleted scenes' called out in the below YouTube video are all in the Viavision DVD print.

Obviously it's missing about 97 hours of footage, but all the stuff talked about (except the alternate endings) above is present.

Just got a Godzilla mousepad that feels an awful lot like a loophole product; y'know, the kind where the manufacturer was given the license to make specific kind of merchandise, but they really stretch the definition of whatever the actual product they were licensed to do? Like shoving a stick of gum into your full-fledged model kit box so you can say it's a "candy toy".

Anyway, it comes in a faux-leather cardboard envelope and a cardboard display stand. It's also too freakin' small so I'm not sure what to do with it.

there's always a reason to soundtracks whether there records or not. I don't know what are implying by that $65. there's other releases not just eva. anime records are pretty popular.

I’m implying that $65 for a non-boutique release record is insane.

How is it not a boutique release. Anime is still sorta of a niche market so its specialized.

Boutique means small run with high features. Like a 45RPM version of Transformer with no cover art, even then $50 is about the high end. Is this three discs or more at least? I know nothing about it. Is it new or just the TV OST? Even now $65 buys a pretty good about of wax usually.

A good old, trustworthy IBM Model M from 1989. Absolutely phenomenal to this very day.
