That cigar box reminds me of when I bought this really nice tin of pipe tobacco and immediately went about to remove the giant warning sticker, to my dismay only to discover another one printed directly onto the tin itself.

Yeah those stickers are beyond annoying and pointless.

Recent blu ray pre-orders. Some of these had a November release but just got here due to delays.

Hard to add pics, have to take them with my phone then resize then upload....

Got a lot of 8 R2 Only Fools and Horses DVDs really cheap, will give them a go and see if they are fun, if not they ended up being about 2 bucks each.

Excellent work!

Only thing is you need to check which DVD's you have. All of them are cut to ribbons, some only a little bit, others are absolutely shredded to pieces. The only true uncut editions are a series of VHS releases that came with a partwork magazine years ago, and the original broadcasts. You can get moody copies but those partwork VHS tapes are a proper rarity because it's the only true way to get the episodes uncut commercially, outside of the broadcast recordings.

Even the new blu ray set of 80's Christmas Specials is still shredded in places, though the exact cuts are outined in the accompanying booklet. It's on my wishlist, just waiting on a bit of a price drop as 40 quid is a bit urgent.

My money is on you loving them rein-o, just personal preference here but the later episode’s where grandad had been replaced by Uncle Albert were the series at its pinnacle for me.

Well I have to say its not a shock to me that I had never heard of this in the states.
Watched the first episode or whatever these discs may be and half of the second, if the bar scene is where they tried to pickup the women yes saw that one.
There are some jokes that obviously go over my head as I'm not from the area and the time but also some of the areas remind me so much of older NYC
like down on the lower east side etc, all the hock shops, used stuff on the streets and the likes.

Enjoy it so far, will check into the cut stuff, I didn't care too much, knew there would be cut stuff but I don't have a VCR anymore that I even would care about
owning any tapes or the format for that matter.

Will enjoy the stuff I have and will have more tat for the house, their flat sort of looks like my house

Ah, so Del Boy lives on in Delaware then! ;) Seriously though I’m thinking when this series originally took off there were lots of TV viewers living in the further flung parts of the UK that also certainly did not get a lot of the rhyming Cockney (or London) slang that is used so often by the brothers Trotter and their associates and I’m thinking that this show more than anything else is responsible for its somewhat more common widespread use nowadays beyond the London area so its really no surprise that viewers from other countries struggle with some of it.

With a cool breeze blowing in from the Urals, and the weatherman predicting a new ice age, these arrived this morning.

A box of Ambre Solaire and a monkey's worth of Turkish raincoats (made in Formosa) with dry clean only on the labels. I've a pallet of broken lawnmower engines hopefully arriving later this afternoon too, along with a crate of new old stock Showaddywaddy LP's, an artifical limb and a spare tyre for a Triumph Herald.

Received the Indiana Jones UHD 4-movie set (non-Steel Book) for Christmas.

Also got this cool little case and some 2.4ghz SNES controllers to go along with a spare 3B+ I had laying around for my daughter to build a RetroPi setup.

Looking at my living room setup, I have... four perfectly good options for playing a CD readily available. (LD player, UHD-BD player, PS1, PS2.) I struggle to think of any circumstances that could convince me to buy a dedicated CD player.

In other tat-acquiring news, I got the complete Cross Game manga in Japanese, now that my Japanese is at a level where I can read kids' manga and get most of it. It's also maybe my favorite work of baseball fiction, print or film.
