For some reason, this speedy USB 3.2 flash drive stopped reading and writing to my primary desktop computer at acceptable speeds. Even though this can write at 300 Mbps or more, I only get slow write speeds of 30 to 40 Mbps. With this USB memory stick, my Ryzen 3700x Tomahawk Max B450 is still operating correctly. The fast speeds are utilized by my old HP 2012, which is running Hackintosh Catalina OS. I looked at the BIOS to make sure nothing was disabled for USB 3.2, but it's not the problem. This is a major issue because it reported that it would take hours to save large files from this 512 GB flash drive to my desktop.
Specs for the pc that is having issues:
CPU: Intel 7 12700f (I went to Intels website and when it detected old drivers it just wanted me to update Wireless and Bluetooth. No mention about USB 3.2 driver support.)
Motherboard: GIGABYTE B660 AORUS MASTER DDR4 B660 Intel LGA 1700 ATX Motherboard with DDR4
Ram: 32 gigs
Edit: This is not logical. I simply plugged it into the computer's back to get rapid speeds. This is strange because the front USBs used to function correctly with this USB stick. I have a headache now. I am aware that the front USBs on my computer case allowed me to access USB 3.2 speeds on my Gigabyte motherboard. Now, I have always had to plug the USB 3.2 sticks in the back of my B450 Tomahawk Max. This pc is now acting just like my old gaming PC. This is absurd. I have to place a USB in the back of this really heavy case that houses my computer, which is really annoying because of where this desktop computer is located.

https://youtu.be/kdbei5JTyZ4?t=99Some how this worked. Even when I already had the settings on better performance. Now it's saving at 350mbps write speed with my front usb ports. If anyone else is having issues. I recommend following this video. It should fix the problem unless something isn't connected properly inside the computer. https://youtu.be/hmPFXrHBplM?t=29This video will prevent throttling in your PNY flash-drive. I now have a more consistent speed at 350-370mbps with this video. You will want to use both these videos as guides. Enjoy the full speed of your flash drive now. The flash drive might not match what is written on the package because hardware on your computer might have limitations. Either way 350-370mbps is quite fast. I have a usb-c 3.2 gen 2 male/female adapter coming in the mail that might even increase the speed with the usb-c adapter.

I'm not as dumb as you think. Just as an exercise, consider what the problem is with this statement: "I'm too smart to ask the people whose job it is to field questions about the product for help with the product, so I'm going to ask the users on a Laserdisc forum instead." Seriously, even putting aside contacting tech support, have you noticed how consistently you end up finding the solutions to these problems on sites other than here?
