My daughter loves to watch her dvd collection on my old Sony (4:3, 50/60Hz) CRT.

I have no interest in watching Laser Discs on a CRT. I prefer to watch them (and any other media) on my projector.

Like VHS, compact cassette I despised CRT’s when they were the current thing. I have no nostalgia for those three things

I never had the least interest in pre-recorded audio cassettes or VHS tapes. To me, tape (with its quality and convenience limitations) was for making -your own- recordings. I accepted the lower quality in exchange for recording from TV channels or radio stations, or making my own tapes for my car or portable player from albums and 45s that I owned (especially when I owned a high-quality cassette deck and used good tapes).

But for --buying-- music or movies/video content? DISCS! Always, only, and ever! Never even -think of- any other way. 1972, 1992, 2012, or today. Still the same.

I do prefer mine for retro games and laserdisc yes. And old DVD that look horrible on a 4K set. Non anamorphic laserdisc masters ported to DVD. Shows or films with old composite or component video.
