In the past on older computers I've damaged the bios by accident but those bios had to be done without doing it in the operating system. I ran gigabytes' app center and tried updating my bios on it twice and each time it froze and failed to update but it stayed at 0 percent so maybe it didn't partially install any bios? I need to figure this out because if I shut pc down and the computer doesn't turn back on that means I'd either need a new motherboard or would have to have gigabyte service it. This is their program so I don't know what is up. If their program screwed up my bios then I don't believe I should have to pay anything to have it fixed. Now is there anyway I can repair the bios on Windows 10 before shutting pc down or do you think it never installed anything if it stayed at 0 percent when it failed to install? I'm not sure if it partially installed even if it got stuck at 0 percent.

Have you tried the Q-Flash Plus method?

Unexpected power outage at my house. The computer has restarted and it works fine. So that means it didn't tamper with the bios and really was stuck at 0 percent. I guess I'm going to have to manually update my bios if I want to do that. What are the benefits of updating bios? Does it make the pc run even better? Is it highly recommended to update bios? Weird thing is I did update in the bios in the past from that same tool but now it's not working. It just freezes.

BIOS updates are usually security updates. If your computer is connected to the internet, you'll want to keep your BIOS updated.
