A 15" driver and tweeter, in a giant solid box. Give them about 2 watts, and they will test your foundation.

My dream is to someday have a pair of MCA/Cerwin-Vega Sensurround Horns, specifically the W-horn with a mouth extender on it to make the walls part of the horn in my home theater. I've heard all the best modern subwoofers, including the Velodyne, Contrabass, etc... As well as movie theaters equipped with massive modern subs and none of them compare to the bone jarring, foundation shaking infrasonic bass that Sensurround produced. Earthquake, Midway, Rollercoaster and Battlestar Galactica were true "experiences" theatrically in Sensurround in a way that even the best modern systems can't duplicate. Films like Jurassic Park or Deep Impact would have been enormously enhanced had the Sensurround Special Effects System been used. Alien's 70mm soundtrack was mixed to be shown in Sensurround but Dolby's licensing fees were lower and didn't require theaters to remove whole rows of seats to install the huge Sensurround Horns, so Fox went with Dolby. Luckily, it's the mix used for the AC-3 LaserDisc, but wasn't used on the DVD's or Blu-ray releases.

I haven't seen any list any releases in a while. SACD is on life-support; it's a niche market with a very limited appeal. You see mostly jazz and classical releases. Almost nothing modern. To put it this way; every PS3 in existence is able to play back SACD. Most people have no idea what SACD even is. ....
-Jay Unfortunately, it was only the first generation of the FAT PS3's that was able to do SACD playback. They stripped that function (as well as extra usb connectors, memory card readers) with the following generations and have not put it back even with the latest slim PS3's.

Shows you how little I keep track of the (silly) console market. I figured Sony would of kept that.
