Ok, first of all, I'm sorry I posted something quasi-political on here. But, I have my reasons, please hear me out. The jist of everything is; copyright and trademark owners are trying to use a loophole in current laws that would make reselling most of what you own, illegal. This isn't just electronics; but your car, your house, even your clothes. Anything manufactured overseas, or with items manufactured overseas; would require permission from trademark/copyright holders before you could resell said item; and if they're stooping to this kind of tactic, it's probably a safe bet they would deny it. If they're trying to abuse the law that badly; then I'm sure copyright trolls will be putting a stop to all the reselling off movies and music; both online and in brick in mortar stores. So no more picking up used LaserDiscs, no more player sells, hell; kiss eBay and yard sales goodbye. Clauses will likely make it illegal for you to recycle or even throw away these items. Afterall, you won't own them anymore, you're merely leasing them. Seriously, I'm usually the one person that when this stuff flies across my inbox or Facebook feed; I ignore it. A lot of times it is a bunch of crazy nut jobs complaining about something that's completely unjustified; this isn't. The more I dug in to the details, the more worried I got. the biggest worry was for the economy; if a company can make it illegal for you to resell their goods by making them overseas, then they have every incentive to move the already dwindling manufacturing jobs overseas. Apparently a federal court in New York has already decided that selling your smartphone, or computer, or books, or even your LaserDiscs; is illegal. http://www.theatlantic.com/national/archive/2012/06/if-youve-ever-sold-a-used-ipod-you-may-have-violated-copyright-law/258276/If you think that's crazy, just remember how insane SOPA/PIPA actually was. http://www.youvebeenowned.org/Do something, or we'll be bending over even farther at the mercy of copyright/trademark trolls.

Well I don’t live in the US but thinking WTF reselling your clothes illegal? No more drugs for the person who dreamed up that BS. Some greedy bugger wants to pocket from this. Well screw them! eBay bumped up % was it 2 years ago and I’ve forgotten about that. This will never hold or stick it would all go black market and no one wants that. No one wants the fuzz the pigs knocking at your door because you sold some Laserdiscs, for Christ sakes.

And then open your coat! Lol FLASHER! Got some Laserporn. I'm not going to lose sleep over this, it's by far the most absurd thing I've read and it won’t hold it.

Japan almost succeeded in adopting a law in 2006 that would ban the 2nd market of electronics devices more than 25-year old. http://en.akihabaranews.com/6699/legacy ... l-in-japanThe law was eventually given up when major musicians claimed that this would kill the music market for vintage keyboards/guitars, etc. Julien

Julien Wow - that is scary given Japan is the world's largest supply of used laserdisc players. Imagine if overnight none were available anymore. Prices would sky rocket to thousands per player in all other territories.
