Wasn't sure where to put this so thought I'd put it in the OT section to be safe.

I hail from the dinodisc forum part of the internet. Part of the fun of that board is the monthly competitions and one of my favourites was to suggest films/shows/whatevers that you would love to see, new or old, on laserdisc. Extra points were awarded for listing features/details about the discs and of course the cover mockups.

I thought I'd post some of them here, I'm sure you can come up with some more ideas and mockups.

I'll give credit to the original posters using their dinodisc forum names if I don't know their names here, if you're here and I'm using the wrong name please let me know and I'll update it.

Mine will be thumbnailed but I'm not sure how to get thumbnails from photobucket and imageshack so the images will get bigger after mine, sorry.

Here were my entries:

Two boxes per series, three CLV discs in the part one boxes, and four CLV (with the final side CAV) discs in part two ones. Two episodes per disc except for the last side of each series which would contain a CAV special feature:

Series 1: Blue Peter makes a Liberator teleport bracelet
Series 2: Swap Shop interview with Gareth Thomas and Jacqueline Pearce
Series 3: Look North: Behind the Scenes
Series 4: Blue Peter makes a Scorpio Bracelet and final scene in CAV

Sides 1,2,3 (CLV)
The film, letterboxed, AC3, Commentary by Christopher Nolan

Discs 1 and 3 also contain alternate opening and closing sequences to allow for scene programming to re-order the scenes in to chronological sequence (similar to Criterion's Close Encounters of the Third Kind release).

Side 4 (CAV)
Original Theatrical Trailer
In-depth Interview with Director Christopher Nolan
Memento Mori - The Entire Text Of The Short Story On Which The Film Is Based
Tattoo Gallery With Comparisons Between The Original Designs & Finished Product

Other entries included :

Well this is kind of in the same ballpark, but I've always wondered if there is a Vestron Laserdisc release of Lucio Fulci's Zombie/Zombi 2 under the Wizard Video label that is just kind of lost to the ages?

My reasoning is, Wizard released a few other titles on Laserdisc and CED back in the day. Those inclulde:

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre LD - Wizard/Vestron
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre CED - Wizard/Vestron

I Spit on Your Grave LD - Wizard/Vestron
I Spit on Your Grave CED - Wizard/Vestron

AND there is the Vestron/Wizard CED of Fulci's Zombie:

Zombie CED - Wizard/Vestron

Buuuuuuuut, no Laserdisc that we know of. Why only on CED for that title? I can't make sense of that, so I still hold out hope that there is a Wizard Video Laserdisc of the movie that we just haven't discovered yet.

Agreed, that does seem pretty odd. If it exists then this will certainly be the place you find it, good luck.
