I collect and even make use of vintage computers. I also enjoy writing software emulators for various computers and game consoles. Add that to having a large collection of Laserdiscs and players, and some might even call me a nerd.

I also grow unreasonably hot chili peppers.

Besides movies, i collect/restore/preserve etc vintage Apple II and /// computers and software ( https://finapple.hho.fi/finapple ). I've sold my vinyl & 78 collection about 20 years ago but kind of i'm tempted to get back to it but in smaller scale...

That's really cool! I like the blog. Apple II was such a nice, simple machine and a very clever piece of engineering by Woz. He got a lot of functionality out of very little hardware.

It's great to see other people have an interest in keeping vintage machines working. The historical importance is lost on 99% of people, who would rather throw them in the trash.

There's no food that doesn't taste better with ghost or scorpion peppers. :)

Last year I grew some tabasco peppers and they were great in pasta etc.

This year I tried to grow the seeds but nothing.
Have 1 inch plants of cayenne peppers and look forward to using them fresh and drying them too :ugeek:

Edit--------------------------------------------------

I only did 1 single plant. I can't even imagine having 15 of the same plant, but I did with tomato's many years ago and the
water bill was 10 bucks more each month.

April and May was my first real growing stint, had 1 of each, cucumber, squash, tabasco and a couple odds and ends.
Mint and basil for fresh pesto.

This year we are more prepared and will have a much better crop from the two city folk doing gardening

I grew 15 habanero plants last year. This year I'm toning it down with six jalapeño plants. I prefer them red!

I don't know what kind of conditions you were trying to germinate them in, but just for the record, pepper seeds are finicky about temperature! They really like to be in around the 75-85F range at all times, and they should be very moist. Keep the soil pretty soaked until they sprout, and then hold back more on the water after that. It's easy to kill a young plant by over-watering, but they recover fast from getting dried out.

15 plants!!! That's a whole lot of peppers, lol. I assume you ended up making a lot of sauces or salsas? Habaneros are great chilis. Really good flavor, and plenty of heat, but not enough to completely melt your face off, so they can fit into a lot of recipes. :D

Last year is when I first started really taking growing these things seriously, and all I had was two ghost pepper plants and one jalapeño. Even with just that, I ended up giving about half of the fruits away.

Not being one to learn from my past mistakes, this year I'm growing 13 superhot pepper plants! I went all-out with a tent, grow lights and everything.

We have an old cold house, lucky to get it past 68
I do have some going from seed so I must be lucky, just sort of winging it and having fun.
Didn't know but do know I was overwatering some other stuff that I killed from lesson learned and have to remember.
Just misting, I know there is TONS of info on the internet but like I said I'm just winging it and don't want to invest more into the hobby
other than seeds or sprouted plants at the store.

This time is seeds, have a new tomato that popped up today :ugeek:

Mainly habanero cookies, habanero jelly, dried some and ate a lot raw. Heat wasn't bad if you removed the guts. I found that habaneros vary greatly in heat though!

I grew those from seeds but got lazy this year and bought the jalapeño plants.

I collect, tinker on, restore, and sometimes modify vintage headphones. It's been a fascinating and educational experience, so far.

EDIT: For example, I recently put the finishing touches on these:

Wharfedale ID1, from somewhere around 1972. The old fabric for the headband and ear cushions had degraded into a thick, pasty mess, so I sourced a new headband, and some replacement ear cushions which finally showed up in the mail.

That's great to see. I hope you enjoy using them after all the restoration work.

I'm getting into film photography, developing and scanning all by myself, really interesting a creative stuff for a computer engineer as myself. Anyway, I've bean wanting to do a photo session center on laserdiscs with a model but I'm kinda short in ideas, I mean, I don't know if you've ever need to send a pic of a laser to anyone for a sell or something, but they are very hard to photograph, dealing with reflections etc. Anyways I took some test shots in a completely unrelated session and I think that look really good.
Here's a first example.

I'll post the following ones as soon as develop them if you guys are interested.
