Anyone else here have any VCDs? I only own two but have seen many and I love the elaborate packaging they nearly always come in.

I have:

A Man Called Hero. A great film based on the Chinese comic book series Chinese Here (translated in the U.S. by Jademan comics as Blood Sword). This is a Malaysian VCD and as far as I can tell is the only way to get the complete theatrical cut of the film. All other home releases have cut out all references to the KKK and pretty much all Caucasian characters.

The Star Wars Trilogy. Unfortunately I only found out after receiving it that even though it doesn't say anything about it on the box the films are the Fullscreen Special Editions but oh well, at least the packaging is very pretty. As far as I can tell from the packaging this too is a Malaysian VCD but it contains a promo for Fox Australia, does not include any subtitles and is in English, so I'm not too sure.

Anyone want to share their VCDs?

I've got quite a few as they were so dang cheap when I was in Hong Kong (plus I was able to play them on my Sega Saturn with the VCD/PhotoCD attachment.)

I'll take a pic of a few of them when I get home.

I never knew you could play VCDs on Sega Saturn, that's pretty awesome. Out of curiosity does anyone know if modern Blu Ray players bother with VCD support?

There was also a Playstation 1 made for Hong Kong and other countries that widely used the format that could play VCDs out of the box.

I have two Sony laserdsic players that also play VCDs both NTSC and PAL, the MDP-K series, a very good series. I have only one VCD, Mayday at 40,000 Feet, because it wasn't available on DVD at the time.

Also, my DVD players do as well, but they are older models.

I have an ultra-rare Indonesia copy of Tower of Terror. To my knowledge, this is the one of only a handful of Disney titles released on VCD. This one I have heard is the rarest of Disney VCD titles. I havn't seen any go on ebay but a similar one when for about $200. I picked this up about two years ago at a bookfest for only 50 cents. I was suprised VCD's were worth so much.

I have ~150 or so of them, mainly HK/Japan/Malaysia releases of some asian titles I wasn't able to get in other formats back in the days.

VCD player was also available as 3rd party add-on cartridge for regular models with expansion port, I have one manufactured by Gamars myself.

Have only one (it was a gift): the Singapore release of "Star Wars: Phantom Menace". No subtitles.

I have a few US released adult titles, but that's about it.

I have these on VCD

Redemption:
Flavia the Heretic
Female Vampire
Haxan
Fascination

Jezebel
I am Curious - Yellow
The Art of Love

I have I think 200 VCDs. A lot of dutch releases for the Philips CDI system which also plays on VCD players. I even got a VCD recorder :)

This picture was posted on another forum some time ago by Marc Morris and if I understood correctly everything they ever released on VCD should be there:

Image

I've slowly tried to complete their whole tape catalogue with all the sublabels although I haven't been fanatic with hunting 'em - there's still long way to go - and secured all the Redemption/Image LD's some time ago. As some of the UK releases were butchered (or banned) by BBFC I've preferred uncut benelux editions over british ones if available instead of adding both variants to my collection, but what comes to VCD's I'd love to get my hands on full set no matter how incomplete versions some of those titles are.

There were a lot of english/us titles on the dutch market years ago.
They were all released to support CDi with a special videocartridge.
I have lots of them, from monty python, to animated movies.
also naked gun movies and a lot of other movies.

However some of them claim to be CDi, almost everything i came
across are plain old VCD's ...

Are the logos on the cover for Scanbox and Nordisk film? It's a very good movie too by the way. :P
It's not hard to find Swedish VideoCD-releases, though most of them are either from Sandrews or Paramount so it's not a huge library of movies. Most of the people who bought them had a CD-i with a Digital video-card.
