A few years ago my girlfriend and I travelled to Finland and fell in love with the country and have since returned many times. However we now feel like we want to explore more of Scandinavia (more accurately "Fenno-Scandinavia") so we have just booked a holiday to Copenhagen in Demark in two weeks.

As everyone here seems to be the friendly sort I thought I'd ask if anyone here has been to Copenhagen and has any good recommendations for what to get up to restaurants, good places to find shiny 12" discs etc? We've got a few vague ideas so far such as visiting the museums, the zoo, the Tivoli Gardens. And as it's only around 30 minutes by train to Malmö we may even get over to Sweden, I know we have quite a few Swedes on the forum so any recommendations for there would be good too : )

And if anyone's planning to visit any areas I know in the UK I'll be happy to return the favour (though if you're planning to visit Sunderland, my current location, my recommendation would be to not bother :p )

Back from Copenhagen, I didn't manage to get across to Sweden but I did come back with a few laserdiscs. Whilst looking around Accord Records I came across about 30 discs huddled in a corner in the basement level of the shop. There were some good titles there including Muppet Treasure Island (1996) [7076 AS], Time Machine, The (1960) [ML102566], Eraser (1996) [14202],Starship Troopers (1997) [71716], Goldeneye: Special Edition (1995) [ML105544] and Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) [ML106834]. All were in good looking condition but as I was on holiday I was limited by how much I could carry back so in the end I just got the following three:

Fifth Element, The (1997) [82406]
Making of Jurassic Park, The (1995) [41836]
Lost World, The: Jurassic Park (1997) [43310]

As I said all were in great condition and a few of them came with little bonus extras like newspaper cuttings about the films, press packs etc, obviously they were from a collector.

The last time I was in Copenhagen was in 2004, there was an amazing shop called Laserdisken. In 2004 they had a few Lds left, but were concentrating then on DVD..(I bought myself the SCARFACE Spec ed. ). check out: http://www.oresundsregionen.dk/en/compa ... index.aspx

The have quite a selection, but not cheap..well, I would recommend that, if you visit Copenhagen, hopefully the store still exists. it´s good to shop there..if you´re into some alternative lifestyle check out Christiania, it´s complete part of the city with artists, freaks etc.
Enjoy your stay!!!

edit: omg, I realize that you are already back..so, just forget about my posting...

Hi exinferis, cheers for the reply, always good to hear about shops. Unfortunately I've got to pass on the bad news that Laserdisken no longer exists. I'd heard mentions of the shop before I went but couldn't find out much about it. I got talking to the guy in Accord who said it went from selling laserdiscs to DVD to Blu Ray then closed, now you just find them in record shops. I do think that record shops are slowly becoming "retro shops."
