So, rather than just spout out "wrong" so you can feel good about yourself in an attempt to skewer me, maybe do a little more anecdotal and practical research. The Ebay policy may state that rather vague rule, but in actual practice I and others I know have never had it enforced on any comments left that were truthful. That rule has more to do with negative comments that are scornful or derogatory. I did not say that my comments were like that.

For example, if a buyer took 2 weeks to pay, but there were no other problems, I state something to this effect, The transaction went fine and the buyer paid for the item 2 weeks after winning. That's truthful and not negative.

Or if a buyer damages an item and demands refund and returns it, and I have email proof of such, I'd state, The buyer received it in fine shape but item then was damaged and returned for refund. Again truthful and not negative. Those comments would stay in effect and not be removed, which I know from personal experience.

But if you don't like this, don't buy from me or others like me, that's your right. Besides, since you don't care for LDs anyway, I have nothing you want.

Wrong again, it's just that buyers aren't aware to ask ebay or you aren't aware that ebay has deleted your negative remarks on a positive comment to the buyer.

I just do the simple thing, block the buyers, refuse to sell to people ebay allows me to sell to and report each and every unpaid bidder. I also do not leave feedback for beggers or pitas. That being said, that is only about 2 percent of all people I have dealt with. The rest of the 98 are great and they get great service! The blocking thing for sellers is a very powerful tool.

I believe the key is to remain objective while leaving feedback as buyer and seller whether on E-bay, the LDDB, or any other site where goods/services are exchanged
.
And there is a time to subjectively give the benefit of the doubt to save face for either party.
Let's face it folks no one is perfect and we live in a world where "things" happen.
Now this tolerance as to delay's or mayhem is within reason of course......

The people who falsely represent themselves and have an agenda that involves skulduggery of any kind should be dealt with swiftly and with resolve so that their pattern of preying on folks attempting to do honest business is broken or at least interrupted temporarily.

We can not "fix" folks who live day to day looking for someone to rip off however as mentioned by mikey and rixrex their are steps to 'deal" with this kind of anomaly whether on E-bay or any where else.
Just don't expect justice on Flea Bay !

Fortunately at the LDDB we have a site Administrator that keeps the "clowns" at bay for the most part.

Good thread ratkins....good points to ponder everyone....

People that burn other people usually do it once and then their name gets around as does their address. They are swiftly dealt with as well. I insure everything pretty much and when I get something that someone says isnt right they usually have to sign a statement saying the item was broken and then the PO could send a visitor out so that cuts down on the marginal criminals. It is a federal offense to lie on one of those forms. They can refuse but then they would have to send the item back. They could break the item but that being said, they are then out the item. That is not their goal. And, the goal of a real scammer is to never leave feedback at all. Negative or positive. No trail. I could write a book, lol.

Don't be such a sophomore. In your mad rush to prove you're the wizard of all knowledge, you only show yourself to not be. You know nothing about my ebay feedback but still you must make a judgement just to satisfy your ego. I happen to know exactly what's going on with my ebay account and the feedback I leave. They (ebay) don't delete truthful comments that are not derogatory and that are not snide, scornful or full of spite. Those are what are considered to be negative. My comments are not considered so. I have already had this discussion with ebay reps and none of my comments, as like the examples I gave, are considered negative by them nor would be deleted.

Perhaps yours would be, if they follow the style of your wording here whenever you have to make a snide remark about laserdiscs and the collecting of such. Here's another phrase of wisdom to add to your collection: Speaking of what you do not know will show you know not what you speak.

Same here, you just don't get it. I think you dead wrong, you think your right. So it goes. Either way your thinking makes no sense here.

The only reason a seller will wait to give a feedback is that he/she wants to see what feedback you leave them first. Even though ebay no longer allows sellers to leave negs, the options for the seller (if unhappy with your feedback) are to either leave no feedback for you or open a "case" with ebay for you to remove your neg towards them.

On a side note. I rarely leave a negative feedback after a purchase but in one case when I did I was besieged with emails from the seller threatening a law suit. It wouldn't stop. He gave me a deadline to change it to a positive. I actually got my union legal department involved, having to send a cease and desist notice to him. There is some case precedent involving negatives "if not valid" that went to court. He was wise to end his nonsense realizing that I had a reasonable and provable cause to leave the negative.
