On Halloween night my wife & I had a couple of hours to kill so popped into the "local" cinema (multiplex) & ended up watching Ouija: Origin of Evil, not bad but rather cliched. Being honest it was rather crappy but..... It had been presented to look as though it was filmed at the time it is set (1965-ish or thereabouts) & quite well done in that respect though the image was perhaps a little too soft at times. One thing I did notice was that 20 minutes or so into the feature projection cue marks appeared on the top right of the screen, thought I was seeing things but every 20 minutes there they were till feature end. Post production added projection cue marks, nice wee touch but how many viewers will notice them? Still a nice idea though. Sadly though that was the most interesting part of the feature for me, perhaps being a bit unfair as my wife enjoyed it & found it "quite scary". |
