I dislike the MDD drive model so I have the QuickSilver one but otherwise great purchase. Last year I got a G3 Blue and White and 2 G4 Mac Minis. I find it also addictive besides buying LaserDiscs :)

This was unexpected indeed. The nighthawks sounds very very good. I can’t believe the difference im improvement between the B&W P7’s and the Audioquest Nighthawk Carbon. P7’s are so lifeless and incredibly narrow in sound. The Nighthawk Carbon’s are just out of the box and not broken in yet but the soundstage is already much wider and the imaging is far superior. P7’s had good bass but everything happened inside your head, the Carbon’s get the sound out of your head and spreads it wide apart. I can’t wait to break these in 150-200 hours and try them again!

With the new iOS update my iPhone X can play 24bit 96khz Lossless files. Finally work won’t be as boring anymore:)

They say knowledge is power, but having knowledge just means more work and more burdens.

Just bought a bunch of stuff to fix my chainsaw:
From ebay:

Windsor Duro-tip bar (NOS)
.325 rim sprocket
Oregon H66 chain
Husqvarna replacment clutch spring
Gaskets

Try Sony? Never seen a bad review for their high end Headphone amps.

I would never say lucky that you don't own.

The house is one of the best things I've ever bought, and I've bought a ton of stuff in my life so far.
I would never want to do the condo or paying monthly fees to some sort of association other than taxes.

Once you have something you do have leverage, but then you are spending a lot of time fixing or working to pay it off.

The car is just nice for freedom, you can go anywhere without waiting for the bus, subway etc. it is a luxury but its also freedom and
while we do live in a place that we can walk to the store its nice to jump in the car and get somewhere in 30 min.

yeah. if only I had the choice here in Au$tralia. Thanks to successive woeful governments we now have the 2nd most expensive real estate in the world, after Switzerland or Hong Kong or something. This is in a country with practically unlimited land area too.

So with a couple of Muse decoders and W-VHS decks connecting it all up was getting a pain. Not only that component inputs had run out on the video processor but what if I wanted to record from a H-Vision LD one time and then a blu-ray next? Maybe just for fun try some good old fashioned tape dubbing! Swapping cables around is a pain at the best of times, but getting in behind the cabinet was making it a nightmare.

So just managed to get one of these: https://www.snapav.com/shop/en/snapav/binary-trade%3B-200-series-component-video-matrix-switcher-with-analog-and-digital-audio---8-x-8
8x8 component matrix switcher, so now I''l be able to hook everything up once and route anything anywhere anytime, no more cable swapping!! Can't wait for it to arrive now and get it all hooked up.

Very cool, I have an older analog push button type switcher, they are worth their weight in gold especially if they don't muck up the signal and are just a clean bypass.

Yeah. 400 million Americans in a mainland area comparable to Australia in size. Sure, Australia has less habitable land but only 40 million people too. If you ever go to Australia we have vast, vast stretches of nothing where it rains and people could live. Our problem is greedy governments that restrict block sizes and land release to the point where prices are sky high. Australian new build houses are funny, biggest in the world, on tiny blocks. You have this massive house, a metre from your neighbors. In America you can get a nice house on an acre block in an area with jobs for 1/4 the price of a McMansion on a postage stamp sized block here.

What do the people in Australian government care? They have 3 investment properties each on average.

Such as scam.

You get the government you deserve though. Idiots keep voting for these people instead of the people that want to change all this. And there are candidates that think like I do, just the main parties and media make them out like radicals and maniacs.

Change will eventually come when enough people suffer the world's highest property and power prices long enough and finally do something. I find Australians very passive though and it takes a lot of pushing here for change. Meanwhile the major parties distract with issues that don't actually matter (obscure links to citizenship of other countries for pollies, gay marriage).

Here's hoping, won't be happy if it screws with the signal. The spec for video bandwidth seems good enough.
