Interesting link bifrostbear, One thing after reading came to mind ..... Some of those inner chamber blocks are 200 plus tons. There is no papyrus boat ever conceived that could transport one of those from quarry to build site. Even "IF" there was a boat to transport a mega brick that weight to the build site, how did they raise it the 50' plus to place it ? Every few years someone claims to have "figured" out the mystery of the Pyramid construction. Good for a laugh to be sure. Here is a laugh for the membership .... My personal theory is some form of application using psionic waves to "levitate" the blocks from point A to point B.

@firehorse The papyrus they found apparently says the boats were made of wood - which would have a much larger loading capacity. According to this article the ancient Egyptians transported obelisks weighing 300 tons by boat so 200 tons is feasible: http://www.reshafim.org.il/ad/egypt/tim ... gation.htmJust because modern man hasn't figured out how the ancients did some things doesn't mean they couldn't do them. Look how long it took to mimic greekfire and the implications of the discovery of the Bagdad batteries. (And the antikythara mechanism still hasn't revealed all of its secrets/) I believe historians discovered some Egyptian models of a frame to encircle stone slabs - which meant they could be rolled. And there was also an ancient site discovered that could mechanically cut large blocks with precision. I view things such as the construction of the pyramids as a form of historical jigsaw puzzles - the picture becomes clearer as more pieces are discovered (one way or another) and added to the story.

Ok, while surfing to inform myself a bit more about this stuff I found an interesting article. It is a bit off topic, however still somewhat related. Enjoy ! http://www.lowtechmagazine.com/2010/03/ ... ranes.html

It bugs the crap out of me when people try to credit supernatural or extraterrestrial help in building the pyramids. They can't handle the extremely obvious fact that some dumb religious nuts from 8000 years ago kicked our a** at an engineering problem. It must have been aliens or mole people or something, anything but the obvious truth.
My way of looking at it is...there they are, several of them, built at different times centuries apart. Whatever the methods used, they would have been constantly visible, constantly, 24/7 for centuries. It probably seemed too obvious to write down in details but... there they are with all the associated anthropological evidence. Where are the university basements filled with warp drive parts and space ship skeletons?
The closest modern day equivalent is maybe Qatar. Lots and lots of construction progress...lots and lots of dead workers. When you do not care AT ALL what happens to the workers and (in the case of the ancient Egyptians, the project deadline is lifetimes away) a lot of impossible things are possible.
Today it's rare for anyone to build something that isn't both done and profitable and to take more than a few years to do it. In a a few decades, maybe 10, it's all back in the ground again. In ancient Egypt things were totally different. Your king is a literal God. Your life has no value and nobody's ever has. There ain't ish to do. These are the contributing factors, no aliens, time travelers, whatever.

Back in the day lots of slaves & some whips got many things done - so sad that in some ways we have not really moved on much. .
