Does anybody have any SVHS machines that they're looking to get rid of? I'm looking for JVC/Panasonic/Sony/Mitsubishi machines.

substance wrote: Just curious. Can vhs benefit from 3d comb filter? As far as I know vhs has luma and chroma well seperated so a decent 2d comb filter can do the job. I have a couple of dvhs decks jvc hmdh5u and 40000u. 5u model has hdmi out. I compared 480i out on hdmi vs composite out, composite beats hdmi by a mile(on sd vhs) .hd vhs tapes you have to use component or hdmi. No, just buy an SVHS deck and run from the S-Video out. No reason to use a comb filter when the chroma and luma are already separate.

Some nice JVC Hi-Fi Stereo decks to drool over. JVC HD-D750EK Hi-Fi Stereo NICAM VHS PAL deckOnce owned the JVC years ago came out around late 1988? Had until mid late 90's where it gave up. Fine affordable NICAM STEREO VHS recorder with fine picture quality and Hi-Fi Stereo sound. I only have the manual and remote control now. Remote control still works.

one of the first VCRs in my childhood recollection, the 1987 HITACHI VT-1570A. one of my mother's earliest VCRs, and her very first with stereo sound, -albeit of the crappy LINEAR variety- and, IIRC, the very first VCR i ever used myself. -albeit only to watch movies- i still have the deck to this day, -in non-functional condition- including remote, manual, receipt, and original newspaper flyer for "TOM PETERSON's" -the local (PORTLAND, OR.) personality of the day that owned several stores in town devoted to sales of A/V, home furnishings, etc. - that advertises the deck, on sale, during their annual "HITACHI SPRING SPECTACULAR" for $670.00. MAN, what you had to pay for a VCR with barely passable audio performance, back then...

I had a nice Emerson VCR from the early ninties that lasted a long time. The remote stopped working first and the buttons were worn. I replaced it with a One For All remote and it still kept going. It started having problems with tapes but it was fine as source selector. I ended up donating it two years ago when I had to move back to my parents house from Texas. I probably would have kept it but I wasn't using it much anymore. I wish I could remember the model though At the moment I have my JVC DVHS, Goldstar Video 8/VHS and Sony beta (which I also donated and then rebought on ebay..It almost seems like the exact one that had before} If I ever see a SVHS machine I again locally I'll probably pick it up. I would love to have Blade Runner on Video 8 and SVHS more than getting another machine EDIT: found the Emerson remote but since I can't remember the VCR model number its tough to find it. I'm going through ebay which is how I saw the remote
