Does anyone here collect anything on 35 mm (or any other film prints, i.e. 70 mm, 16 mm)?

I noticed the Sandlot on 35 mm on eBay for fairly cheap- maybe 300 dollars. seemed like a good buy. Does anyone watch stuff on film?

I have a full 35mm Dolby Stereo print of sgt peppers lonely hearts club band, and also Die Hard 3 (Dolby Digital and DTS) and Armageddon (quad print - Optical Dolby Stereo, SDDS, Dolby Digital and DTS). The sgt pepper print is slightly pink but otherwise looks great and the sound mix is interesting as it has different music cues during the end credits that none of the LaserDisc or DVD releases have - for a Dolby Stereo optical film it's dynamic range is HUGE and sounds fantastic... It had a huge number of different prints made... 35mm 4track mag, Mono optical, mono Dolby A, Stereo Dolby A with no surround, Dolby Stereo surround and then 70mm 6 track in both standard mag and Dolby A. Universal thought it was going to be a major hit, which is bizzare, although I love the film.

Only nitrate film is flammable, and it hasn't been made since the 50's. All films since the 50's have been on safety stock, and modern films are on Kodak Estar stock which is Mylar based and doesn't degrade.
