1st I want to start out by saying I don't know if anybody else here will care or if anybody else even bothers to sell on ebay.

So I was about to relist some stuff as I try to cycle my 50 free listings on ebay and discovered that you won't have the
option of 30 day listing, only good till canceled.

This means that they want more money from the sellers for the stuff that just sits there.
Does anybody else think that sellers may start listing cheaper again for all items and not have these super high prices to just let them sit??

I do the same but I hate the fact that the collector base has really gone away to a museum/voyeur type base.

People would rather "like" or enjoy pictures than actually own and enjoy the object.

eBay has changed too much though if this does make some things cheaper then I suppose that is good but otherwise they're just a shadow of their former selves.

Anything that’s makes it harder to leave a $10 on eBay with a $1000 price for years on end is good news, IMO.

My only gripe about it as a seller is their customer acquisition is next to garbage.
When I have an item listed and sells at 40 bucks after 2 years that's pretty much a joke and they have no customers who want used or vintage stuff anymore.

But as a buyer I will be happy to see some more new stuff and get sellers to start selling stuff cheaper rather than sit on it.
I'll be doing the same too, lets just see if the other sellers follow suit.

That might explain the rise of Discogs for LPs!

Its really a shame as ebay was great for one stop shopping, if you wanted LPs and looked at the other stuff the seller had you might be interested in
some random thing they had.

But now we have to shop all these different sites and no more random stuff to buy.

Visibility on eBay is crap. They also screwed their catalog system up. Used to be I'd have no problem putting in a UPC and getting the item to pop up. The other day listing items they didn't have Silent Hill 3 in their catalog... I did sell it at least.

I don't mind this change but I have so few listings at any point that I am not at risk of running out of free listings.

Pretty underhanded stuff by Ebay. I just tried to do a bulk change in my listings to see if getting rid of "Good Til Cancelled" can be changed that way.

The drop down menu is there, but it's grayed out:

I called Ebay, to see if something can be done and that didn't help at all. Just kept saying that all fixed price listings are "Good Til Cancelled."

I'll give it another month or so, and if they don't change it back, I'm ending my selling life on Ebay for good.

All my eBay France listings got relisted only with "GTC" option now, same here.

Yeah, they say that their customers wanted this.

Well I'm a customer and didn't want this.
2 other issues that are very funny.

1 is that they are removing paypal, my wife tried to get some shoes a few weeks ago and told me last night that
paypal is not an option with this one seller.

Another thing is that there is a GTC listing that has been up for 2 or 3 years now, I offered 20% off but they declined

People can watch an item indefinitely so what good is this?

Customers said that eBay wants to be Amazon to generate more profits.

Don't take "popular demand" as a real thing.
It's pure marketing BS.

By customers they meant "marketing experts".
