Does anyone know what I can do with this without having the TV? I thought I could use it when I bought for $14 at a thrift shop but it seems I have have the TV with it to work.

I guess it doesn't have any other video outs like the Sony MBD-XBR900L does?

According to the manual for the PRO-1110HD the receiver box should have "MONITOR OUT" S-Video port, so you might be able to use it as an external comb filter...

However, if you're hoping to use it as an upscaler, it probably doesn't work all that great since the Sony box didn't work properly without the monitor it was intended for.

I wonder if mine actually works or its broken. I've plug it in and used the monitor out but the on and standby lights alternate. maybe it won't work without the TV?

Is the System Cable (white) a DVI output?

I will have to try it but it works with the other port and cable for the TV which gets the signal. To verify this, I'll have to try what you asked at some point. I'll have look through my adapters and cables probably next week after I get a lot of stuff out of storage. Also need to have my other TV to have another option of working.

Dvi to hdmi adapter is just a small plug, if you need to get one it should be like $1 from China. Then you just run a regular hdmi cable of course.

What's the "other port and cable for the tv" you're talking about?

I have an adapter or cable so I don't need to buy one which I will find this weekend and try it out on both TVs next week.

The DVI white port and the one next to it are directly linked to a Kuro which I don't have. I'm assuming the other port sends data or something as the DVI would send audio.
Trying one port without the other one with A Kuro might not work but I'll try when I have the time.

DVI should be video only, normally anyway. Does it say that port is for audio in the manual?

Just an update. I've tried an adapter and cables but it won't work so I probably have to have the special cable and the TV. Also found an HItachi like this which is pretty much the same thing with the cables and a TV.

DVI can definitely carry audio as well.

It's a video interface for computers, it wasn't intended to carry audio normally.

True, but I had my old PC hooked up to my TV via DVI to HDMI adapter and it could still carry the audio signal, so it really depends on the source.
