Sorry, i've just been similarly reamed out a number of times before on several forums over the last ten-odd years now, and it's left me with a bit of a chip on the shoulder. i try to turn the other cheek these days, but there are a LOT of White Knights out there these days, -even among Anime-fan circles- and it can make things trying for those of us that still harbor an attachment to elements of the Artform of which today's Anime industry and associated fandom are seeming to do their level best to lower down to the level of that of, say, the U.S. p0rn video industry of the 1980's. there were ALWAYS "Concerned, Decent, Normal, God-Fearing Citizens" that had plenty of beef with Anime as an Artform. in the 80's it was barely known in the U.S. in the 90's, it was known, and abhorred, for "Sex and Violence" Girls with Bazookas, and all of that. today, it is known for... well, Sex and Pedophilia, and SJW, Feminist, and general Moralistic concerns throughout the U.S. are having a right positive Field Day tucking straight into this particular turkey with all available gusto. it just isn't right to see such a beautiful Artform, that has brought so very many wonderful things to my own life alone, be drug-down and obliterated so, but, well, there we have it...

the first, and most common, in a series of 1/6 dolls by at least two different Mfrs. (TAKARA and DAIKI KOGYO) of the most famous and well-loved (within Japan, at least) female character in SNK corporation's legendary Fighting Game franchise "SAMURAI SPIRITS" ("SAMURAI SHODOWN" outside Japan) i got lucky, and found my own standard 1P color version of her off the BAY several years back for a mere $13 and change shipped. the somewhat harder to find 2P alternate color version is also shown, which i do not own. i have since heavily modified her, including; * new Face-Up * new Miko (Japanese Shrine Maiden/Prestess) costume from SEGA "Chara-Doll Selection" Sakura Wars "Sakura Shinguji" * new Short Blade (gleaned from a 1/6 model Long/Short Katana Blade set * new 27cm. OBITSU doll body ( (N) "Natural" skintone, (S) "Small" bust size) * new fully self-handcrafted cotton undies (Bra, Panties, Stockings)

spyrogyro wrote: What is this hobby about? Collecting dolls and dressing them up? for me, at least, the joy in it is in the flexibility of having "Fully-Customizable Action Figures" if you will, of favorite female Anime characters that i may dress-up exactly as i might wish. the possibilities are virtually-endless, limited only by the limitations on what i may be able to make or find for them in regards to 1/6 scale clothing... also, i've heard complaints from at least one english-speaker out there in regards to the 24's hands looking rather like they are wearing heavy gloves. evidently, OBITSU must have heard similar complaints Japanside in sufficient quantity to take the issue seriously, since the new 26's hands are far more appropriately slender and feminine;

Personally, I really like when figures (or dolls) are made to look "realistic" in a sense (i.e real clothing, "real" hair, etc...), but that might also be because I grew up really liking playing with Action Man. And the anime dolls tasuke have been posting here are quite well done, especially when he customizes them afterward (btw, you are quite good tasuke) and he has got quite an impressive collection. Also you can clearly see that they aren't made to be naked, I mean you see all the articulation and stuff, and there are no details on the "sexual" parts, they are there to give the shapes when clothes are put on them as would "real" shapes look like on a "real" girl.

Agree these are not remotely sexual. I'd link to some stuff to show what I was referring to but it would probably break forum rules.
