I currently have a Sony SLV-N81 which was working but now doesn't want to play any tapes. Should I just look for a better VCR as my main VCR as I don't want to wear out my DVHS VCR with standard tapes.

I think you should buy a new VCR now. Recently I purchased JVC HM-DH3000U. It has SVHS, DVHS and D-Theater Kassetten in HDTV. It is worth buy for me and a perfect solution to my VCR problems.

I literally can’t tell if that’s spam or not.

Yeah, I would just get another VCR. I just bought another Mitsubishi S-VHS VCR as a backup as I don't want to wear out my D-VHS VCR.

Didn't know the third one had a VHS release, it's weird thinking how long VHS lasted after the introduction of DVD.

If only LD had lasted until 2003, would have loved to have Shrek on LD.

I would love to have the "Tomb raider" (2001) 4:3 open matte on LD
