I had a book of the Black Hole with the same artwork when I was a kid but I don't remember the record. Was there a tape version? My family didn't have a turntable.

Yeah, they would have made tape and LP versions.

What Fun !

Mostly missed that boat.
Did accidentally purchase the "story of star wars" on vinyl while at a record store in 1978.
My brother (9 at the time) bought a copy of Kiss "Love Gun" on the same outing.
He was (is?) much cooler then I !

How we loved spending our lawn mowing $

Nice thread !

How was that an accident?

Hey there takeshi666,

I bought it not realizing it was a shortened narrative of the movie....( not the brightest 11 y/o, I recall expecting the "full length" original story )
Really a let down when I spun it up at home due to the shortened very rushed cheesy version. If I was aware of the condensed version within the jacket I would have bought an ELO album or a Kansas record instead !
That is why I typed "accidentally" which could be translated to "young person buyer remorse" !

I remember the utter disappointment feeling when listening to it as I type this 42 years later..... weird !
Already owned the John William's score that was played nearly every day for like a year !
Very pleased with the soundtrack big time.

Hope this makes sense, apologies for my wording, makes sense to me !

I had tons of these as a kids and now I passed it (along with the kids turntable) to my niece and nephews :-)

Was interesting to discover that most of the old Disney songs are being re-dubbed when they are nearing 50 year-old.

Officially to "modernize" the lyrics.
Unofficially so that the "new" version can reset the copyright counter to 0...

What a hater. They’re only remaking all Disney classics so that new generations can enjoy them more easily.

Hail Satan.

I've got Empire and Jedi cassette releases but no vinyl. I do see some of the smaller vinyl releases at work (Disney stuff mostly iirc) sometimes but they're usually in very poor condition.
