A rather somber text from a buddy in the metro Detroit area was received as I started my ER shift tonight. A 1200 bed hospital his wife works at has 600 SARS II patients (Covid 19). This was most distressing to note needless to type.
Two of my EMS buddies were exposed and now self quarantined for 14 days. So far none of my hospital colleagues have taken ill thank goodness.
Heart goes out to all the critical care doctors and RN's on the front lines in this war of attrition.
This world situation is most dire. Please honour the orders to shelter in place people. Take it seriously. We gotta weather the storm.......
So paddle kids, paddle like your life depends on it. By paddle I mean, be vigilant, be aware, and be patient with the current day to day.
We will persevere........
Cheers mates A big thank-you for your posts on this thread firehorse. Take care yourself & stay as safe as you possibly can. Respect to you. John

forper wrote: yeah I don't get how so many people are apparantly "bored" after a couple of weeks of quarantine. I would never run out of stuff to do/watch/listen to. They must be just boring people. Or their only hobby is sport I get that forper. Got a few things to preoccupy myself, quite a few model kits to start or finish, books & comics to read or reread, some decorating to be done & of course my LDs..... lots of F1 LDs & quite a few others to be spun again & perhaps get them sorted into more of an ordered state. Whatever gets you through this time is good though you are having your work appearing to be filling quite a bit of your time. Take care & stay as safe as you can. Cheers, John

Stay safe James, this thing is only going to be more bonkers from places like where I live.
Here in DE we have under 400 cases or right over 300, can't remember. But when we have so small a number people don't think its real so they start doing stupid s**t and that's how it goes haywire.
As for the bored people, they are bored due to the fact that they can't eat and drink the night away like they used to. They live in these apartments with all their belongings in a sack and do the minimalist stuff so hard they can't figure what to do.
We have so much stuff to consume here in the way of books, LDs, CDs, DVDs etc. we would be fine for many months. Then there are the house repairs that will be neverending and we haven't been to a home box store since early March.
I heard about these people who are bored and are doing puzzles, do you have nothing else to do in your house, apartment or life that that is your only outlet....
I know some are single or may not have pets but stay strong, enjoy our LDs DVDs even Blurays or whatever you enjoy.
