You switched to hospitalizations, we started on deaths. Not the same thing.
Your point was: but it still hasn't overtaken deaths from the normal flu this year

Mortality rate for COVID is higher than the flu.
It is on a curve to easily beat it.

Hey sorry I didn't give a update sooner, I've been feeling better for a couple days, with pretty much all my symptoms short of a dry cough gone. I have plenty of PTO at my job, so my wife and I aren't missing any income thankfully.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes, hope everyone is doing okay, we'll get through this :D

That is good news pokefraker, really glad to hear from you here & that you appear to be past the worst.

Take care.

Cheers

One of the bigger Japanese exporters on eBay (Japan 4 U) had 120 packages returned in the last week or so. Probably best to hold off on any international orders for now. Japan is getting hit particularly hard right now, however.

CD Japan reported similar in their last news-mail.
It seems to depend on the shipping method used, and on the destination country though.

You are most certainly right about one thing, forper. Most of the media, especially German media and CNN/MSNBC, try to make Trump like an idiot no matter what he does. And you are mentioning some good points. Nonetheless I believe if action had been taken sooner, things could be better now. Nonetheless they shouldn't blame Trumpf for everything. I have read in an article that Trump is using China as a scapegoat. That's ridiculous. China is to blame for this mess 100%.

Yeah, I've got a couple LDs on their way to me from Japan, but EMS tracking has had them stuck in processing center since the 7th.

Who knows when I'm actually going to get them at this point with their 2nd wave of COVID-19 hitting them?

It started to pop up for me as well, and the restrictions provided by CDJapan seems over-optimistic:

https://www.cdjapan.co.jp/info/20200401#0416_3

SAL/Economy Airmail to PA 18xxx

03/23/2020 Posting/Collection TOKYO
04/17/2020 Returned to Sender

EMS to GA 30xxx

04/15/2020 Posting/Collection TOKYO
(in limbo)

Sent another Surface (no tracking) at the same time, not sure what will happen to it.

My shipment from Japan via EMS finally arrived.

Even though it was stuck in processing in Osaka for 17 days.

Seems many Japanese proxies are now offering free storage until shipping is back to normal or otherwise slow-boat is about the only other option. Less or no restrictions on some private couriers compared to Japan Post but these are often lesser value for money (some exceptions for larger/heavier packages).

This actually works fairly well for me since slow-boat is usually the preferred cheaper option, but now there's extended time to build up more titles before shipping - almost always shipping more in the same package reduces the per item cost.
