well, from what i can find on google, there isn't a dvd
player that will do it for you, but, if you watch dvds on your computer, there is a dvd playback program called VLC that will allow you to change the subtitle style/size/font etc.

on a dvd that they had authored, which can be done, but i doubt if its something that can be edited on a standard movie dvd you get from a store. that's just what i found, there may be some player out there that allows you to do this, but it sounds like VLC may be your best bet. i've used the program before for basic dvd playback on computers i've built that didn't have the windows media codec to play back dvds, and it works very well. best of all, its free.
