how much better(if it all) is beta over vhs? i know there are some Die hard beta fans out there so what the deal with it?

Beta lost out early on in that format war skirmish.
In my opinion a better video resolution then the winner VHS.
Beta was just getting established and then overnight.... poof....TKO !
Several buddies still swear that Beta is hands down better then VHS and are devoted to it after all this time.
Not certain about the sound myself.......

:thumbup: Nice link with vintage pro and consumer audio/video gear.

The Laserdisc made it's US debut in 1977. The 12" discs look much like an overgrown DVD on steroids. :lol:

This article is probably the best explanation as to why Betamax failed (and it's not because they didn't get p0rn on the format!)
