If you're looking for a marine battery you can count on, count on K Mart! We have an extensive line of marine batteries that will keep your boat afloat! I know people collect some odd stuff, myself included, but this really is wonderful. Someone has uploaded a bunch of incredibly rare K Mart store music and announcement spots. Some of themare just glorious. I hope K Mart managed to build their instore pharmacy in 1974! https://archive.org/details/attentionkmartshoppersMy personal favourite is this one, which I am going to play whenever I visit LDDB.com and read the forum posts! https://archive.org/details/KmartWeekOf05.05.1992

You have posted some really interesting posts on here with the above being among them. Some pretty eclectic stuff, thanks for them - if there was a THANKS button on this thread I would be clicking it. Cheers .

Probably the biggest changes now are the technology department is tiny compared to the 80's/90's and the auto service (local has only 3 bays) is run by another mob now (has been sold off nationally iirc). I guess the toys section isn't as good now either, there's still a fair bit there but most are duplicates of the same thing. It had heaps of different stuff decades ago. Do they stock marine batteries?

There are still 3 Kmarts near me, they have the occasional "cult" item and survive on that? I remember buying TMNT graphic novels and import Imai Macross kits from my local Kmart in the '80s. This specific kit I remember very well, actually got it in '90 I think Godamn boxart was so good back then. Something that really inspired a boy. In '91 I had a dream about creating a diorama with it and my ESCI modern US infantry in choc chip camo to imagine an extremely future extended Desert Storm campaign. I remember the Spartan had a decal that said "Red Hot Redenheden" or something, which fascinated me... I'd just like to say that Desert Storm was my favourite TV war, 2nd place is Invasion of Iraq '03, which was also a classic!

There isn't really an auto section now just a few bits and pieces like wash/wax and the like. I remember you could get spark plugs and all kinds of stuff. A guy I went to high school with worked there, when I got my first car there was a bit of stuff he bought for me using his staff discount. Marine batteries, never noticed them there ever tbh but that doesn't mean they definitely didn't have them at some point. There are 2 lakes in the area that have traditionally allow boats, one even allowed high powered boats, but in recent times both have diminished capacities so no boating now.
