All would benefit taking his advice. The guy has been pushing back against political correctness b.s. for decades. He is a true patriot, a man who knows the price of freedom.
The tree of liberty must be watered by the blood of patriots....... I agree. I have been a huge fan of the United States for a long time and I have nothing but love for this country. What's happening in the States is just plain insane. What happened to George Floyd was a barbaric act and nobody should die in such a terrible fashion, however I cleary reject the present cancel culture in the USA. Come on, the Dixie Chicks changed their name to The Chicks because the word Dixie is racist ? How is the word Dixie racist ? Or Lady Antebellum changed their name to Lady A ? How crazy is that ? What's so terrible about the word Antebellum ? Because it refers to the period leading up to the War between The States ( 1861 - 1865 ) ? Films like Gettyburg could not be made nowadays because it portrays the Confederate generals and soldiers in a very humane way. Thank God there are still some people left who make good movies like Polanski ( please watch his most recent J'accuse ! it is excellent ) but for how long ? I do not care whether the main actor in a movie is white or black ( why should I ? I know many brilliant black actors such as Denzel Washington who is one of my favourite actors of all times. I do not watch his films because he is black but because I think he is a fantastic actor. Period. ) but this whole "Oscars so white" thing was so annoying. Now everything has to be diverse so nobody feels marginalised and discriminated against. Why can't we just like actors because they are good not because they are white or black or whatever ?

The "liberals" aren't actually liberals at all. They don't want to end the authority, they want to be the authority. And you know what the irony is? In California, they're trying to repeal the 1996 proposition 209; look that one up. The old term "useful idiots" has come to mind a lot recently.

In case we need another example of the value of physical media: Ben Stiller Says He Won’t Cut Donald Trump from ‘Zoolander’ Amid Fan Backlashhttps://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/ben-stiller-says-won-t-200337332.htmlIn this case, Stiller has so far chosen not to bow to the pressure. But it's a reminder that the madness is real. And also that when people "own" streaming versions of a film (as I do for this this film), then the studios can make any edits they want. What could I do about it if a scene suddenly disappeared? (it happens all the time with streaming music being switched out for different editions, for example, whenever a fancy new remix is issued - the old version is just gone, as if it never existed)

When the wall came down and Germany united, East Germany moved their communist regime into a public park. I see no reason why they couldn't do the same with confederate statues. And just to make sure, put it up for a public vote. Except that'd require effort, y'know? That'd be cooperative. That'd be democratic. But no, we can't have that, because we're angry now! We wan't change now! We haven't the foggiest idea of what the hell the change actually is, just as long as it happens immediately!
And this just just another insidious side effect of the prevalence of corporate culture; protest exists to be stamped out, not to be met at the negotiation table. Entertainment media bends the knee rather than allow the protests to inconvenience them any further, both internal and external.

This cancel culture crap .makes me want to vomit. Not democracy..... collective in mentality, communist to the core. It may be to late, this socialist rot has infested all levels of public schools and universities states side. The insidious agenda has been working hard occultly for decades.... Where is the push back ! ? ! More then a kneeling !

If Julien believes we should not have this discussion then we can simply close this thread and move on It's a matter perspective on how people view what they consider is a "nasty" remark. Overall, I just don't enjoy seeing politics being played out on on a site dedicated to something as innocuous as a video format. That's why other forums exist for just that. Also, I certainly hope some of you are not any of these "anti-mask" supporters because it's amazing how something meant to protect us is being politicized for no logical reason.

confederate wrote: Alright so because some of us are worried about the current development in the States, we are automatically anti-mask supporters ? Let me assure you that I do not belong to said group and that I am highly critical of how the entire coronavirus crisis has been handled by the Trump administration so far. What a preposterous assumption. Fair enough so my apologies for making such an assumption. I was too quick to assume only Republicans didn’t want to mask up even though I know of some on the left that also have that same issue. However, you have to admit, when the president doesn’t lead by example he is politicizing it. confederate wrote: You are perfectly entitled to voice your opinion and so am I. I do know however that a lot of liberals are extremely intolerant towards other viewpoints. Yes...and that is why I made my opinion known. It’s also very true that many conservatives fall under the extremely intolerant viewpoint as well. In my opinion, the most ideal path to political peace is finding that half way point that most would agree with. As it is with Trump, he has caused this whole one sidedness for his own selfish gain and in doing so did not care about how it would tear the country apart.
