is there one that's decent depth wise for all gear? I'm currently having this as my setup.

and found the dimensions on the Ikea one that I wanted to use unsuitable for my Pioneer AVR and possibly other pieces of equipment like my beta VCR and pioneer bd player.

I can't build one as I don't have access to anything. Would the above wire shelf with butcher blocks be the best bet? Though I have some more equipment in storage like my main Hitachi 32" TV.

I don't really know what to do. All I know is how I am having my old game consoles with the CRT setup but that's it.

Depending on where you live it may make sense to look for used industrial racks from places on Craigslist going out of business. You can buy something made for 19” modules and it will be wide enough for virtually any home AV gear ever. Depth is variable on 19” racks but the standard full sized ones are deep enough for an LD-W1. These will be all metal units that won’t flex or wobble even the slightest bit.

I have a really nice cart I got free from work. As soon as I fix the casters it’s going to be my “arcade machine”. HD enough to hold up a 32” tube, sufficient for storing multiple PCBs in addition to the one being played. When it’s time to move, just unplug the power cord and push everything away at once.

I guess I could go with a 5 shelf unitor buy another 3 shelf unit to go with what I have.

Either way I might switch walls so I can put a couch in here which I need to get sometime as well.

I believe those 5 shelf wire racks have half poles that you need to connect, so you could have a lower 2 or 3 shelf in half not as tall.

if they are poles are double I can just get another 3 tier one and have next to the other one instead of having the tall 6 one since there might not be enough height.

So finally came up with an end result to the main unit. Going with 2 4 Tier stands not sure which and also a stand from ikea so its something like this: [though Disclord and whatever else I have yet to decide on. I could connect it to the CRT ]

Looks fine, just not sure about size, would it be wide or deep enough for an LD player???

Also tall enough for the height of the LD player?

yea. these are so hard to tell and the racks get terribly expensive. I suppose I can keep using the cube I have since it works nicely. how much does the CLD-79 and LD-S1 weigh respectively?

Also check: AV racks for heavy Laserdisc players

If you're in the UK, you can still get some classy ATACAMA A/V racks here:

http://www.atacama-audio.co.uk/c/hifi-racks_equinox-series_equinox-hi-fi-rs-celebration

I got:

They still have the wide Equinox series on clearance (44% off):

I think I will use my Kallax cart since I can't find anything really good that I like or that works with my setup. One day I hope to build something or maybe buy something higher end.
