Title says it all really. I know I'm a bit late to the party but I've just never been able to complete it before, could never defeat the Yellow Devil (Rock Monster I think in the US version). The game is merciless. Got the urge this weekend, got the cartridge out and finally worked my way through it all. No better feeling than completing a game that has outwitted you for decades.

I've completed Mega Man 2 before but it has a password system to allow you to return to where you left off which makes things a bit easier.

Now I need to play through Mega Man 3, annoyingly it's always so expensive to get hold of.

I had part 1-5 on NES back in the day. They were fun games

Always wanted to get MegaMan: The Wily Wars for the Genesis/Mega Drive so I can have those classic games in one package with slightly upgraded graphics . . .

. . . never got around to it though (it was only available in Japan and UK on cart, and you could only get it in the US through the Sega Channel.)

Cheers for the link, I've got a Mega Drive (and Mega CD) so might pick that up at some point. The graphics are nice but as with most Sega games I think the audio pales in comparison even to the NES. I'm surprised that Mega Man ever made it to the Mega Drive, I thought it was a Nintendo exclusive in the early days.

I managed to pick up Mega Man 3 not long after the initial post. I ended up getting it shipped from the U.S. as it's cheaper to buy a fully packaged version and get it shipped from there than cart only here. Currently working my way through Wily's Castle, it's been a hard slog to get there, wasn't expecting to have to battle the 8 robot masters from Mega Man 2... unfortunately I've now come face to face with my old nemesis again; the Yellow Devil! The fight isn't over yet...
