I've a couple of discs I'd like to try LG captions on, most well-known one would be the GITS Premium Box. If not this might be worth looking in to importing.

More tat just in time before Brexit ruins everything. Carlos Sultana: The Complete California Prunes Collection. Watched my first Sartana film the other day. Destroyed everything I presumed about Westerns. Sartana is just so badass even Mr. T would get on a plane to escape him. Bought this off the back of that experience. Whopper. Don't Open Till Christmas. Imported from Spain. You'd think the disc was a bootleg at first glance. It isn't. You get DTSHD2.0 audio and a behind the scenes featurette. It's also completely uncensored. I think this and the Austrian XT DVD release are the only ones that are. Thing is, the Austrian DVD has a weird 1:66 ratio where this Blu is 1:78. Not checked the disc yet but I'm assuming this disc holds a telecine from a collector 35mm negative. Just a guess. You can read about the differences here: https://www.movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID=741327Lastly got my House replacement. Properly new and sealed with nothing missing. Shame Hugh Laurie isn't in these but at least Norm is. Tonnes to watch now for the weeks ahead. Darn Brexit!

Yeh.... Hey je280 at least if you get your independence from the UK, Scotland is then free to rejoin the Bloc Looks like the rest of us here will have to stay on board the sinking ship until they eventually have to crawl back to Brussels and beg to be allowed back in! I'm English through & through but totally ashamed of my nationality since brexit happened

Forgetting all of the politics and all the rest of it, purely from an economics angle, it's a real bag of grapefruits. Putting businesses large and small to one side, it's also cut Joe/Josephine Average (UK) off from a huge market and vice versa. And it's not first world problems like having to buy a DVD from Amazon.de now. It's things like warranties, returns, trading across the border with NI, GDPR etc. Getting way off topic anyway. To coin Douglas Adams, so long and thanks for all the fish...

My apologies; but it's probably me that properly dragged this thread off topic but yes everything you say above Ted and a myriad of other benefits too! Hey the wonders of brexit just never stop giving do they As for the Joe/Josephine Averages amongst the 17.4% of the UK populace that voted for this nightmare I have zero sympathy, at least in the neck of the woods where I reside close to 80% voted to remain! By the way I don't come across as being just a little on the bitter side do I?

deadlegion wrote: The Black Adder Remastered (DVD R4) Blackadder Goes Forth Remastered (DVD R4) Cool! Are there reasons to get the DVD over the Blu Ray? Anything changed with them? Oddly I was watching Goes Forth last night along with Michael Palin's 80 Days. Both great shows. The last stragglers of 2020 arrived today. A Dryrobe (towel version). I've been sea swimming since August with a supermarket bag and a swimming towel to change out of my wetsuit with when I get back to my car. This was a late Christmas gift to me from family to help me with my Ironman training next year. Should help a lot, it's huge! These things have a stigma in Ireland. I call it elitist nonsense. If you go in to the Winter sea in skins (e.g. your swimmers, swimsuit etc and not a wetsuit) you need to either be experienced or prepared to handle afterdrop. Just because a bunch of idiots see themselves as better than anyone else they're singling people out for being safe at the beach. Have you ever heard such stupidity? Granted, I wouldn't wear a Dryrobe to the supermarket, it's not designed for it. But each to their own. Looking forward to making mine threadbare ASAP. It's caused such a stir it even made the headlines in Ireland. The sad fact is it's probably the elitists that end up in A&E more ofter with hypothermia for pushing it. The sea belongs to everyone and everything. (Except plastic.....and Nuclear waste......and oil rigs....and bomb testing....and the proposed runway in Antarctica) https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/ ... ancy-robes Detective Bureau 952678197633: Go To Hell b*****ds! has been in delivery hell for weeks. Savage film. If you haven't seen it, get on to it ASAP. Also got 2 different anime. Don't have a clue what they are, what they are about or what they do. They were cheap. They were blind buys while ordering Cyber City Oedo. Someone here may know if either are good? They look like modern anime so I guess they're going to be crap before I even put them in my player.

I got those remastered (sealed) DVD's from work along with some other things I listed, dirt cheap. No other reason. I would get BD versions if they cost pocket change

rein-o wrote: How is that Detective film F'ING MARVELLOUS. It's sort of like a gangster film with 007 vibes sort of. It's wonderful entertainment. I became a huge Suzuki fan recently. Add these to your list: Eight Hours of Terror Take Aim At The Police Van Both are superb. Certainly give them your time if you get the chance. There is a sequel to Detective Bureau 55321689532. It doesn't share a familiar title and I forget what it's called. I'd love to see it though. The film had such an impact on me I bought a book all about Nikkatsu films early this year to learn more. Got my Bible, Spinegrinder, at the same time. Spinegrinder is ALWAYS at arms reach for me. Invaluable resource which has occasionally missed some stuff I've seen! Due an update soon I hope. someone had one of these available for around $50 shipped on the BAY, and i pounced. a major hole in my MACROSS/ROBOTECH collection, now plugged. it is missing the Obi strip and poster it originally included, but at about half-price of what everyone else seems to be asking these days, i'm most comfortable with the sacrifices... .jpg?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds)

Surprised this one wasn't seized by customs and escorted out of the country. Picked up the Austrian XT release of the Guinea Pig box set. The first two pseudo-snuff titles that hoodwinked Charlie Sheen are not my cup of tea. The later, zany films are though. Some top quality effects and makeup in these. It's not a cheap set of discs, the steelbook version is even more silly. However the XT release is the best out there. The Unearthed set was the original release box but the quality is far inferior apparently. Anyway, they're all OOP now so prices are rising unfortunately. Can you believe Arrow are releasing Joy Of Torture soon in the UK? How the heck did the BBFC approve that? I bet you 7p they won't release Joy Of Torture 2: Oxen Split Torturing. It's available in Germany but now OOP and very expensive. Thoroughly gruesome. Richard III would have loved the opening 10 minutes of it. People give out yards about the first two Guinea Pig films. I wonder if they've seen A Serbian Film or August Underground? Neither of which I plan to ever watch. Got a Pi Zero W kit and Pibow case today too and a little OLED display that slots in the GPIO header. Built a lovely little Pi Hole with it.

In the same vein as this, I'm in the process of a Star Wars-themed low-profile wall-mounted MAME (and retro console emulation) cabinet build for my theater. The cabinet is in two parts, one housing the display/PC/power/soundbar/etc, and the other housing the controller. The first half is done and mounted, and work on the controller portion should commence tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll have it complete by tomorrow night, but more likely sometime on Thursday. I split the cabinet into two pieces because it let me keep the lumber costs down, simplified the cuts (only a few non-right angles to give the controller some pitch), and should make transport easier if/when it needs to go somewhere else (probably in the attic with other discarded toys). I started out with plans of just wall-mounting one of these from Microcenter (which includes a Pi 3B+, RetroPie preconfigured, and 140 licensed Atari ROMs) along with a spare 26" LCD right above it... but as is the case with so many projects I take on, scope creep set in and I'll end up with custom fabricated cabinet(s)/controller with 26" LCD / 28" Soundbar / Custom Vinyl Graphics / Google Home automation, i3-4120u/8Gb/128gb USFF Windows PC running EmulationStation + RetroArch as well as XBox One Stream, and matching Star Wars stool. The Pie could have done everything I wanted from an emulation standpoint, but I went the PC route because I found a USFF ( similar to one of these) on FBM for $50 and wanted to do XBox One Stream for modern fighting games. I'll post pictures when it's complete, hopefully tomorrow or Thursday (stool won't arrive until after Christmas). Well, on my next to last cut I got a little sloppy and clipped my left thumb on the table saw blade... deep laceration, 12 stitches, but no break/bone/tendon/ligament damage. Pretty lucky as far as table saw injuries go. Hopefully back to construction Weds morning.
