Jeff sent me my step down transformer today so it's almost CLD-R7G time! This has dual 110v inputs (yes I know) round the back on her hoop. So that means I can feed the CLD-R7G and my APD-2 in to it at the same time. I will then put the 3 pin plug in to my smart strip plug. This will let me switch both devices on using one plug instead of two with Harmony activities. She's a big girl. Very heavy but well built. All metal and chunky switches. The analogue meter is superb too, hopefully I'll get a nice readout of the load. She's a smashing looking thing. I just hope after all this the R7G actually works...

I have a transformer that will do this. Just a transformer, a huge 2 to 1 job that I can set up to convert 110 to 220 or the reverse of that. It’s in a steel box about 10x6x6 and is just the component, no sockets or fuses or cables. It’s set in resin/stone so it weighs like 12 pounds. Where I work we had a bunch of these and when we threw them out I kept one. They are so industrial that if you ran a synthesizer or a PAL TV on it or something like that it would never ever fail in 1000 years. There is probably more copper in here than in two CLD-97s. My plan is to build a wooden box for it that I would then decorate like a cuckoo clock and it will be my “euro adaptor”. US outlets on one side and EU on the other. I haven’t gotten around to doing this though because I’ve always made it a point to avoid any 220V gear so I don’t have any.

I just received my Beavis and Butt-Head DVD set, its scary how this stuff is so spot on for today. Back when this show came out I knew to many kids who watched it and essentially were those guys so it’s not something I like to watch. I do love some of the jokes though. I just watched that Plasmatics video they did...quite funny. Mike Judge is one of the best.

At 1500W, you could run at least 30 Laserdisc players off it simultaneously rein-o wrote: I just received my Beavis and Butt-Head DVD set, its scary how this stuff is so spot on for today. Is that the official releases or the King Turd bootleg one? Cause the latter actually has all the episodes, with the music videos in them.

rein-o wrote: sadly this is the MTV box set called the Complete Collection that has the first 3 volumes, film and 2 other discs from other released in one set. I saw some bootleg sets on ebay recently, one was 300 and the other was a 16 disc set for around 75 and I'm just not going to spend that on bootlegs unless I rip them and sell copies but I'm not interested in doing that. I got the individual volumes myself but I haven't even touched them ever since I downloaded some VHS rips of the entire series. After all, why would I want to watch an incomplete series in an incomplete form? The King Turd collection is much higher quality than those VHS old rips but I need to get my hands on a whole bunch of blank DVDs.
