I stumbled upon this today. I've never seen Capri Sun promoted so heavily on an album cover before. It's tremendous! Does anyone know of any more? Was Capri Sun popular in Japan in the 1980's? ![]()

This has suddenly escalated quickly. If you like the song that much you can hold a Capri Sun party? Someone tell me more about this. Quickly. It looks brilliant. ![]() ![]() You could even get your own Capri Sun bag! ![]()

See 3:03 I assume it is critical that Tropical Punch is used for these activities instead of the typical Fruit Punch variety. |

Brilliant! That video was great! Thank you. The money shot is at 3:03 as you rightly pointed out. I was confused though. For a bloke that was supposedly so happy he didn't look very happy at all. Apart from when he was windsurfing and drinking Capri Sun. No wonder when that girl was talking you couldn't hear her voice. I think the director was artistically insinuating that nobody could hear anything over your man's trousers. The video looks like it's from a film in some parts? Warrants further investigation! |

It may be that all you are seeing is Capri Sun ads. Capris Sun looks to have been sold over there by Glico who is one of Japan’s biggest junk food companies. They would have had TV ads and it is very common for ads like this to have a catchy song in them that you can buy (usually on a 7” or CD3, it will be mentioned in the bottom right corner of the ad). It’s nothing short of amazing how many singles promoted blank cassette tapes in the 80s (and blank MDs in the 90s). That may be what this record is since it says Glico on the cover. All the merch seems to just be disposable promo crap. This is educational. I didn’t know Capris Sun even hit Japan. I also never knew this: “In 2014, after continued pressure to fix what consumers described as worm-shaped food mold in Capri Sun pouches, Kraft released a clear bottomed pouch to allow consumers to better inspect the product before consumption. Additionally, the non-recyclable packaging has spurred environmental groups to pressure Kraft into redesigning their iconic pouch.” Maybe it’s time to leave this feel-good astronaut food in the past... |
