Hey there,

I got a Setron DV5000NK LD-Player for free (if you're reading this: thanks again!) that unfortunately comes with a caveat.
I can play laserdics and it works well up to a certain point, then the player suddenly starts to quickly fast forward/skip chapters until it reached the end of the disc.
This is a recurring problem with all the discs I have. Let it be 20 minutes or so, then it goes nuts.

Anyone familar with this problem? Is this reasonable fixable? Sounds to me like the laser needs some adjustment?

Thanks in advance
Best regards

I can't remember what this is from but I do remember reading about it.
Hope someone else can chime in about it.

Also are you sure the discs are flat, I know you said this happens with all but it may be warped?
Make sure before you start adjusting.

Wow, that's a Korean player.

Could only find 2 (bad) photos on it online. Hard to tell on which player (likely Pioneer) it's based on.

This player is actually a Samsung based unit that uses a Sony laser pick-up (KHS-130A).

I had both the Samsung, DV5100 & DV5000 in my possession for awhile and ended up recycling both once I knew they had a Sony pick-up. They definitely appear to be made by Samsung as it has a very unique loading tray that I never saw in another player design.

Since your player can still play discs, it would be worth fixing. Sounds like an alignment issue but maybe something simple like dried up grease where the skipping occurs. Can you verify if it will play a CD properly?

Here are images of the 5100 I had....
