Hi all. Newbie from Kansas. Thanks to everyone for keeping this forum up and alive!

My question: What would you consider the most currently "serviceable" model out there in 2022? Some things to consider...

Who still has parts available? (For instance, Panasonic/Matsushita doesn't.
What models can I more easily scavenge for replacement parts?
Availability (used or otherwise) of proprietary service tools (reference discs and the like)?

Thanks in advance!

Others will chime in and I know very few parts are available, some have a few test discs and few grip rings but I think from
what I remember reading the grip rings are gone now.

Other than that you will have to salvage other players and Pioneer is your best bet.
Good luck and enjoy collecting LDs.

Any of the last generation CLDs: CLD-S104+, CLD-S304, CLD-D406, CLD-D504+, CLD-D604+, CLD-59, etc.

Jigs will vary by manufacturer and model (Panasonic being the worst), but all require a LD reference disc at the minimum.
