Post subject:  Where to buy Pioneer parts for non-US residents?

Hi all

I need to purchase a couple of drive motor belts to fix a CLD-D99, LD-S9 and HLD-X9. They are still listed on the Pioneer US site, but I cannot seem to make an account to actually order anything. I know they will not post overseas (as stupid as that is!), but I could probably send them to a friend. If it is no longer possible to make an account, is there somewhere else to buy the loading belts? Preferably somewhere that posts overseas. Thanks!

Any workshops for electronics where you live? I ordered parts through my local workshop. Of course, the 6 USD loading belt ended up costing like 42 USD in the end, but at least got my hands on parts...

Hmmm, possibly. I was thinking of contacting Pioneer Australia to see if they can point me in the right direction. I thought that could just be a dead end, though.

I order straight trough Pioneer myself. Best bet would be finding a local Pioneer dealer and order you're spare parts. Get a hold of the cat. numbers for spare parts. They aren't in any hurry to look for a part that costs 2x nothing....

Well it was for me. Ended up getting what I needed through one of those third party parts suppliers like pacparts or partsimple.

But I think that does end up more expensive. Trying a few local service agents is good advice, just hope they deal with a different supply chain than Pioneer Australia!

Ha! I figured they would be useless! They barely knew what a laserdisc player was in 1998 when I bought my first player! I will try a different avenue as you sugest, thanks for the advice!

You could use a freight forwarder from the US like Shipitto. They give you a US address.

Yeah, that will probably be what I will have to do. Although, pacparts did give an international shipping price. Nothing was in stock, though. I can't work out how to make a consumer account with Pioneer US. >_<

I think often they don't - when you order they get it from Pioneer and send it on. I'd compare the price difference of one of these third party suppliers vs using a US proxy shipper and decide from there.

Don't think you can with an overseas address, and they won't send overseas anyway. I had a short email conversation with someone from there who tried to be very helpful and actually recommended the third party supplier route.

If you go to Pioneer's website they direct consumers to pacparts.com but it seems to be fewer than what Pioneer used to offer.

Hello!

I have no idea (I guess I'm not the only one) which parts should be replaced once in a while, what are the part numbers and how to order them (for delivery in Singapore or France).

For a HLD-X9 and LD-S9, what would be the parts to stock ahead of trouble? (laser pick-up, rubber band, ?)

Nicolas Santini, many years ago, offered a "spare parts kit" for the X9.
It included the parts that were renewed when he brought in players for service in Tokyo.
I was trying to find the old emails about this topic to remember which parts were in that set,
but it seems it was so long ago that i don't have them anymore (before December 2006).

I did purchase such a set, but I'll have to dig around to find the stuff again. I know where it is,
but its not that easy to reach :P

From memory: Rubber mat, fuse, spindle motor and something else.

Ok, after some digging, here is what I found:

Image

There are two large parts in boxes:
VXM1066
VWT1138
and then a little sealed bag with small parts:

DEB1169 (rubber mat)
VNL1763
VEB1184 (belt)
VEB1114

Now if someone can connect these numbers to what the parts are supposed to be called,
this could be quite helpful for others :)

Cheers!

I've stumbled upon this german website: http://www.lasertrader.de/
Laserdisc optical parts for Pioneer, Sony, Philips, etc. Might be worth looking into?! :)

These are the last ones available... Might give them a round before they become extinguished.

They ship (DHL) to Singapore, might add the Pioneer Reference Disc (2001) [GGV1069] as well.

I saw you talked to someone @ Pioneer Singapore - does Pioneer Japan still have VNL1779's?

No, the black version is completely sold out, only the gray version remains available.
