The manual is for LD and CED repairs. However, the manual was published in 1985 so it can only cover LD players made up to 1985. I don't believe it will be of much use for players made after 1985.

I plan on having scans made of the LD pages if they are of any value.

I will know more about the manual after I get it. It is scheduled for delivery on 11/25.

Well, I got the book in the mail. It is not an easy read. The book is divided into about 2 equal sections. One is for LDP and the other is for CED players. The book is definitely for pre-1985 LDP's. There are two pictures of LDP's that the book covers: a Sony LDP-1000 and a Sylvania VP7200.

The book covers how the LDP operates with pictures and diagrams of the circuits. For example, Chapter 1 is titled "Introduction to Videodisc Players"
The sections in 1-1 are named:
1-1.2 The Basic Videodisc Systems
1-1.3 Similarities in Videodisc Systems
1-1.4 Differences in Videodisc Systems
1-1.5 External Connections
etc.
Section 1-2 (Introduction to the LV System) has:
1-2.1 LV Videodisc Versus Audio Record
1-2.2 Noncontact Pickup System
1-2.3 Standard Play Versus Extended Play
etc.

This book would be great for someone who wants to restore a non-functioning LD player built before 1986 and has a good grasp at troubleshooting electronic circuits. I mention circuits as this book is full of circuit diagrams and text describing what the circuit does and what it should not be doing. There are some oscilloscope pictures to show what the circuit waveforms should look like also.
