I saw some people mention they got one a few months ago but not sure if the supply dried up. Also do I need to have a specialty account to buy one?

You have to find used ones or someone that has old stock that may have one, do an internet search to find one.

The ggv1069 Pioneer test disc and its kin ,are the most recommended..Ive read that some use Video Essentials or Video Standards in a pinch..they are readily available on EB..I stumbled on the ggv1069 in Ireland…donberg-electronics….it was 63 +€ , which I and others thought was expensive..dont think that now….posted that here ,they had 2 ..long since gone,,Instrumental Parts and Encompass had them listed for a while…butt when you ordered it…a few weeks later they would notify you of it being no longer available..they have since updated their sites to No Longer Available….I once made a to the winds order from both..grip rings..spindles..pickup assy etc. that were listed as available, all I got was 1 grip ring ,that was over 2 years ago…Talking with a guy at Encompass..he said Pioneer dumped over200k parts # on them and they had no idea what was available…had to manually check each part…my point being..if you find it ‘in stock”..best check with the supplier before ordering..save you the hassle of waiting weeks to get an email telling you to forgetaboutit and for your refund..

Attaching myself to this topic as it fits perfectly:
I am looking for test discs as well (would like to give my CLD-2950 a full service).

Regarding the service manuel I would require both GGV1003 & GGV1007 but you mention the GGV1069 to be the most recommended one.

So I could take that instead (if I am able to finde one...)? How do I know what frame to use?
I guess it could work out even without the discs using a CAV movie and checking for a reasonable frame with my oscilloscope.
My player is not damaged or "way off", so just maybe a voltage equivalent spot on the disc could work as I expect only some fine tuning might be required. :problem:

I was not able to find any related content via the search function in the forum.

Thanks!

Its not going to be cheap anymore.
I know someone who is selling off a couple he has, but I'm making sure he doesn't give them away, we are doing a rein-o special price.

Thanks for the offer rein-o!

Would have been okay for me to spend ~150$ for the pair.
Reading your comment I expect this not to be enough though (which is fine as they are so rare).

In addition I am afraid of sending these rare discs 4000 miles over to Europe.

Will give it a shot without the discs, my osci and some common sense first (after all it is "only" a CLD-2950 not an HLD-X0).
If there is no getting around the discs I will get in contact with you and my wife regarding our savings.

Thanks again!

Just wanted to add myself as well. Been looking for the 1069 for awhile now; I get that it’s not cheap.

From time to time, a used copy might show up on eBay. Late last year there were three auctions and one of them was the rare PAL reference disc, GGV1011. It sold at a high price at the end of auction, though.

Rare is a serious understatement, that's the first one I've ever seen hit eBay. I wouldn't have bid, but I feel bad that I missed it and didn't pass it on in time - I hope someone who really needed it got it!

Still looking for a GGV1069 or equivalent. There is only so much you can do in terms of calibration with just an oscilloscope.
I recently bid on the three discs appearing in eBay, but was unsuccessful.
Our players get increasingly hard to maintain and while I have been successful at cannibalising 'for parts' units, and have been re-capping power supplies, the possibility to calibrate has eluded me.
Just transferred a laser unit from a defective player into another ... should be good once-more to go if I can get it calibrated.
So if someone has one for sale ....

The price was quite OK for such an item. But high shipping costs plus import taxes added too much to the price. Unfortunately.
