I've been trying to but individual sellers won't split A/V amps (even when described as "junk") in parts. It costs money to dispose of electronics in Japan ($5 to $50 or more depending on size/weight/type) and selling the whole chassis, even for cheap, is a way to get rid of it and make a little profit instead of a loss. I might give ONKYO -- the new owner of Pioneer A/V -- a try! Julien |

If the regulator goes bad once, it will one day happen again w/ the replacement as well. Might be easier finding a technician to look over the regulator and find what I assume might be a few burned out parts that would be easier to acquire off the shelf. |

Can you take a look at the board for any bulging or leaking capacitors? Or even burn marks on the board. It looks like there are two fuses and several electrolytics on AWX7310. |

Haven't found any ONKYO will not sell me the regulator board "because it's a risk for general public". And since I can't fix the regulator, they will not sell me the replacement foot even though they have it in stock. The Japanese business mind will always remain a mystery to me (but the state of the economy seems to agree that it's not the sharpest). Julien |

Is there a business that could help order it for you? An Onkyo dealer maybe? Surely somewhere in Akiba could help? Assuming it's somewhere within reach, or courier? |

Haven't found any I'm assuming one or more have just dried up then. I was recommended the Atlas ESR70 by a member here for situations like this, but if you have a soldering iron I'd just gamble that replacing the caps would resurrect this unit. |

The A/V amp ended up in the trash (with recycling Japanese "B" stickers" since it's above 10kg) because Pioneer/Onkyo wouldn't let me replace the power board and chasing a replacement unit or finding spare on the 2nd market was not making a lot of sense (lots sold as "junk" or "as-is", might have the same issues!). I'll use the extra 2ch/Zone B on the McIntosh amp to power a 2nd room in stereo instead. Julien |
