I have way too many units that have been crushed, dropped, bent, etc. I can never get them to function properly after this has happened. The clamp/lens/spindle will be misaligned to some degree. I've tried using a level, etc to get them back into proper shape with no success.

Does anyone have any ideas on things to try or has anyone been successful in these types of repairs?

I only know of metal work, you could try using a torch to get the metal softer and then bend it easier, but it won't make it perfect.

Metal work is hard, if you hit too much you will make it thinner and more distorted and then need to compensate with the other direction but now its thinner.
People who know what they are doing are incredible experts, its not just like bending it back unfortunately.

The torch you could use would be just a propane from the plumbing section at a hardware store.

Worth a shot. It might allow me to make more precise adjustments.

Here are some photos of the damage I'm talking about:

As you can see, the slightest of dents can basically ruin a player. I have more spindles and optics on hand than back panels.
