Sorry, I forgot to ever introduce myself since I joined about a year ago.

My name's Spooky.

I'm really into retro video games, funkpops and Star Wars.

I watch movies and play video games on my 280" Korean LCD. I have a retrotink 5000.

As for music, I'm quite well listened. I have Spotify, so I don't have to think about what song I want to listen to next. Thank you modern technology.

Youtube actually told me I should like Laserdisc, because that's what kept getting pushed to the top of my watch recommendations. Thank you Youtube.

So now I'm a laserdisc fan I signed up on this thing called "forum". I don't really get it, it seems slow and boring. But I'm here now and I'll actually be asking about a recommended player so I can get the laserdiscs into a format that can play on my phone and look nice and modern like blu ray in 280" (My eyes can't stand low resolution formats).

Thanks guys.

(note to others: this is forper attempt at humor, sorry if it feels off)

Just after you get a warning for being your usual weird self.

Trying to test the limits?

Who is in favor of banning forper/spooky and all his future futile attempts to rejoin (since he blew the 2nd chance he had at being a decent human being?)
That would also include removing all of previous forper posts that were kept out of kindness.
But obviously he didn't deserve it.

Julien

This is kind of funny, I thought it was Zeta at first without looking at the profile.

So what did he post in the above that is upsetting you?

It's the contents of the previous posts over the weeks and the fact that this is coming right after I sent him a Forum warning to try to behave.

He's taking the same path that got him banned once.
There won't be a 3rd attempt.

I'm tired of cleaning up topics and answering flagging reports ... always from the same person, for years now.

I'd like him to withdraw voluntarily.

I don't mind less self-centered posts from users and more helpful/contributing ones.

He barely contributed to the Database (3 submits, 5 updates), he's only here to kill time and stroke his own ego.

We don't need him.

=> spooky account suspended for now

My diagnostic: narcissism with a dash of sociopathy -- who believes "contributing" to the forum is measured in how many of your posts triggered people. That's the very definition of trolling.

I guess up his own back-end...

Let us just ignore him so maybe he is able to spend time on something productive, like getting himself some help.

With an IP in Australia (blocked now) and a weird sense of humor... forky or spooper ??

I like spooper better.

That's the way laserbite34 went down too, minus the Tourette syndrome... and I got to permanently block each and every attempt until he gave up.

Isn't that the definition of insanity according to Albert Einstein?

Checking back at the IP address trails, it seems that forper had other accounts as well.

The post contents, references to specific hardware, etc. leaves little place for doubt.

=> fullspectrum2000 removed as well

Was reading a article about how mental health services are being pushed to the brink currently in Australia while having breakfast this morning,
Forper 'we' hope you do reach out for assistance, men's mental health isn't anything to be ashamed of in 2024.

I don’t know why people repeat that myth. I thought it was just Americans but I guess not.

“Insanity” is a term that predates modern understanding of mental health and has become one of those terms that, now, knowing what we know, has no real correct definition. It’s a blanket term to describe a list of issues, sort of like “cancer” or “poverty”.

Einstein’s specialty was physics, not psychology. His opinion of what “crazy” is was as relevant as his opinion of what a good night on the town is. It doesn’t matter though because he never said it.

In summary…1) he was no expert, 2) the term has no real definition, 3) he never said it.

Forper has problems for sure though. He’s nuts. That’s my totally non-expert but actual quote there. I hope he gets the help he needs.

You answered your own question…nearly every single thing in that post was written to get a response from me. He’s *begging* for attention. Since I blocked him I have to manually unblock each of his dumb posts to read them so until just now I didn’t even see it.

When you have members deliberately s**t posting to troll other members who aren’t even seeing the posts because everyone knows to block the guy…that’s a useless member. Please ban.

I suggested earlier banning him to his own 80s incel subforum. That’s a lot of work probably so just ban him outright. He’s a jerk and he can’t learn except to learn new ways to be a jerk.

Just to add. He seemed to totally lose it through the course of yesterday, I’m thinking the frustration became just too much in the end as from what I could see every member he attempted to troll totally blanked him, and rightly so!

f**ky

At least laserbite34 contributed something to the community, once upon a time. Forper's more like a step up from the headphone guy, which isn't saying much.

Or the laserdisc subreddit, but he's probably already banned from there. I know he got banned from the adjacent discord channel; I saw it happen.
