I started my collection last year, bought The Abyss: Special Edition on Laserdisc, and after that I bought a few more, then my interest in the format went dead for several months. Then, last month, I re watched Techmoans video about his experience with laserdiscs, and it got me interested in buying an LD player. So I got a Pioneer CLD-S201 player off of eBay for about $120 plus shipping. Since then I've bought a whole lot more LD's. I really like this format, its a fun hobby. I kind of like having to get up and flip the discs over, its like an intermission to get more popcorn or a soda.

Welcome to the forum.

Hope you continue to enjoy the collecting and if you stay interested beyond a year I would be on the look out for additional players. Can’t just simply have one in this day and age ;) .

Thank you! I see myself buying another player in the future. As much as I like flipping LD's, i want to try to get a double sided player, the mechanism for playing both sides is pretty cool.

 I actually have this issue with my 3070 and need to pull it from my shelf to see the issue.
It may be slipping as it stopped but was told it could be something else like a ribbon cable inside?

The most common issues w/ auto reverse players are the stretched loading belt causing all sorts of operational issues including preventing the auto reverse from working.

This is actually a good thing from a buyer perspective as many sellers think this means the machine they are selling is a "parts machine". Thus, keep an eye out for bargains like that when they do come up and hopefully it's a seller who is nearby where one can pick it up (shipping is the death knell for most auto reverse players).
