I frequented alt.video.laserdisc back in the early-to-mid 90s. My love for laserdisc stems from the 1980s laserdisc arcade game machines, mainly Dragon's Lair and Space Ace. I collect some laserdiscs but stay usually within films and TV shows I grew up with.... Tron, and I think I still have a Battlestar Gallactica. I've been collecting laserdisc arcade games since 1984 you could say I've amassed quite a few players too. Granted most of these players are the industrial players and most are broken, I still love them regardless. I'm always interested in purchasing additional laserdisc arcade games and their discs.... such as: Time Gal, Road Blaster, Captain Zapp, Ninja Hayate, Badlands, Bega's Battle, Cobra Command, Cube Quest, Esh's Aurunmilla, Freedom Fighter, Goal to Go, GP World, Super Don Quixote, Thayer's Quest and several others.
I love the way a laserdisc looks, I love showing them to people, especially the younger generations that are so blown away by the technology. I'm amazed at how large some people's collections are.....6000 laserdiscs, where the hell do you store them?
My collection of arcade games was at most pushing 60 but 6000 discs....that's impressive and NUTS!....
good to be here, looking forward to doing some trading or buying from the community.
